Fitday.com Is Alsome
Barb,
I've been using fitday.com since about 1 month post-op. It's been great for me to see where I stand as far as protien intake. Being a life-time weigh****cherI also know, it keeps you honest!
The nutritionist I've seen since surgery suggested the following: (Please keep in mind, every MD and nutritionist will say something different about optimum intake post-WLS)
Calories: 1000-1200
Fat: 30-35 gm
Total Carb: 75-125 gm
Dietary Fiber: 25-30 gm
Protien: 60-100 gm
These are my one-month averages, and I've lost 75 pounds since 9/13/05:
Calories: 1100
Fat: 46 gm
Total Carb: 79 gm
Dietary Fiber: 8 gm
Protien: 91 gm
I find it difficult to get in more fiber, and eat less fat..the need for protien out weighs that!
I'm seeing a new nutritionist tomorrow. She comes well recommended, with over 5 years experience with WLS patients. I'll let you know if she tells me any different.
Good Luck, and keep it up with fitday. I also log in my exercise, keeps me motivated!

Donna,
It is great. You can log it on paper and put it in at the end of the day. If you dont work just put it in as you go. You can also put it in small portions. Like if it is 1/3 of a cup put in .33 or if it is and 1/8 put in .8 . It really is a good way to keep track of your foods. You can always add food that are not listing and put the calories in there.
Have a great day
Barb
