How is your skin?
I am almost 4 months out of surgery. I have lost between 75-80 pounds already. I am extremely happy. I do have about 75 more pounds to go until I hit goal.
Anyway, the skin on my tummy doesn't seem to be hanging too much at all, so I was wondering, is it too early to notice sagging skin, or maybe, just maybe (crossing my fingers) I could be one of the lucky ones.
Just wondering how I compare to my other September surgery sisters and brothers.
Have a wonderful and safe new year!!!
Jodie
Jodie,
I wonder the same thing,
My skin is shrinking right up with my weight loss. To mention I had 19 inch arms now they are 14 inches Skin shrunk. Lost 5 inches from my thighs the skin shrunk up. My wasit 12 inches skin is all shrunk up. and the the abdom skin is gone. I think some people have very flexable skin. Lets hope so. I do excercise like crazy. So I am sure that helps. I heard walking really trims the waist line. I beleive that.
Happy New Years

Unfortunately, my skin is hanging because of having to have 2 c-sections along with a lot of weight. I already qualify for the plastic surgery, from what I understand BCBS of Alabama's guidelines say...and the skin is just continuing to hang further.
My thighs have excess skin along with my arms (I now have "wings"). We won't talk about my chest or my stomach and how much excess is showing now that I am 60 lbs down.
I have to say that I am prepared to actually have the plastic surgery when it comes time, but I am going to try and lose as much weight as I can before I go to see my plastic surgeon.
I am glad that others of you are seeing your skin tighten up again...

Well, I hope you are one of the lucky ones. What I was always told is that if you have been heavy for years and years, most likely your skin will sag but if you have been heavy for a few years it may bounce back. I guess it has to do with age too. But then I figure when you loose that amount of weight it has to go somewhere! You have a nice New Year too!
Im 48 I have bounced from 220 to 238 for over 5 years. I was smaller before then. Then after I had heart failure with chf I was weak and could not excercise for 2-1/2 years thats when I bounced to 272. Thank god for this surgery it has saved my life. My skin is doing great. I am trying my best to avoid anymore surgerys it just takes to much out of me. I swore this one would be my last (Unless Life threating). Well see when I reach goal. If I have surgery it would be a tt but read so many bad stories about how hard it is. I was a machinist for 15 years that kept me pretty toned for a big girl.
Happy New Year to You Tooooo

My boobs have always sagged but they are hanging lower with each pound I lose ! It is hurting my back also. Doesn't help that I have arthritis in my middle and lower back. I am noticing some sagging but as long as I am losing and feeling better each day I'm not going to worry about it. Hubby likes to grab my butt and says " yep ! it's getting smaller....and softer" "who's your dadddy !"
Hi Jodie - I am in major sag!! My boobs, my tummy, my thighs, my arms. I am a mess. I have joined Curves and hope to firm up a bit. I don't see my insurance - Kaiser - paying for any of this, but plastic definitely seems to be in my future.
Good for you on your weight loss, little girl!! You're doing great!!
