I was told that "we" cannot handle as much alcohol as we used to pre-op I was just wondering with all the social events upon us... Please be totally honest, How much alcohol can you drink? What type? How Many? Over what time period? What are the effects it has on you? How do you feel the next day? Thanks a lot, just don't want any surprises to happen at a party LIL'RED

I drink Bloody marrys. I drank like 6 large glasses last sat. I had a water after each one. I did great. I was out all night and had a blast. I did not get sick and I was tippys and didnt make a fool of myself. I was a good girl. That night I came home I was 10 pounds heavier. It was fluids. Next day It went away plus a extra 5 pounds. I dont make a habit of drinking. But I do go out on the town with my friends. I was looking for another type of drink to drink. But I dont want nothing sweet or tart. I used to drink beer. But that is now out of the question.. How heavy was you before the surgery andwht is your weight now. You look small. Happy Holidays Barb

I haven't really tried to drink, but at the mall I go to there was a new wine store and they offered a sample. I tried it, 1oz of a merlot, LOL lets just say we (my son and I) had to do two extra laps around the mall because I was a bit tipsy. I never really drank much before surgery though.

I had a beer last week and a scotch and soda yesterday at a company holiday function. The beer made me a little buzzed but very briefly. I had no other effects. amy

Funny you should post this, last night I went with my husband to his work Holiday dinner party and for the first time decided to try a drink. I went with my favorite, Stoli and cranberry. I sipped it causiously being that I didnt know what to expect and didnt want to embarass him infront of his co-workers. I sipped the drink over an hours time period and had no effects at all. Now that I know I wont vomit, I might drink it a little faster and see what happens. Krista

I'm guilty. I have had a glass or two of wine here and there since the holidays have started. I get tipsy feeling quickly, so I don't drink much and it doesn't hurt my tummy or anything. I drink 100ozs of water the day I know I will want to drink and drink alot more than usual the next morning also. Beth
