Gatorade...
Hi Guys....
It's been a little quiet on the forum so I thought I'd post some stuff thats been on my mind hehehehe...
Ok, so yesterday Hubby bought some Gatorade... I told him that has too much sugar, he should be drinking Propel if he wants something like that.... but he has tried every flavour of propel and hates them all.
Ive been nagging him so muich about protein, vitamins and water that i decided to let this argument rest and he could have the gatorade if he wanted.
He has been struggling with water big time, maybe getting in 30oz a day, and for a man of his size thats not good...
He bought the big bottle of gatorade, like 34oz I think..... and was able to drink the whole thing from about 5pm-8pm.... Along with the other 30oz of water he had during the day thats probably the most fluid he has drunk since surgery....
Im happy that he got all that liquid in... but not so happy about it being gatorade....
So what do you all think??? The surgeons office told him anything under 15-20g of sugar should be ok. The Gatorade has 14g.
I don't want this to become a habit for later out, but right now while we are so desperate for him to get calories and fluids???
Opinions?
I love Gatorade. We were told we could drink it right after surgery. We can have up to 25 grams of sugar per 8 ounces of liquid. I drink Gatorade everyday. Have him try the lemonade. It is great. I mix mine with unflavored protein powder sometimes to get in more protein. The strawberry tastes best with the protein powder.
