Any of your dreams come true yet?

A bunch of us answered the question "What is the #1 thing you cannot wait for after surgery".
Any of them started happening yet?? Even if you didn't answer the question back then, have you had a great Wow moment that really hit home for you?
For me, I'm still working on my list - but I'm keeping it in mind!

Tonight I was talking to my daughter. I look down and said look my legs are crossed. I was in shock. I said I havent done that in a long time. I look in the mirror all the time. I see a new me comming out. I am happier. I am going out. I am living my life again. I look good in my clothes even at 215 I think I look great. I am amazed with my energy level. For someone who had a heart attack in 2003 I am sure doing well. I dont feel like the biggest in the room anymore. I dont pull my shirt over my stomach all the time like I use to. Everyone tells me I look great. I just am so glad I am gettting healthy and comming out of my shell. I didnt go nowhere last year. This year I am out everyday.
Happy holidays

I'm using the "normal size" bathroom stall at work instead of the handicapped stall. Might not sound like a huge thing but to me it's fabulous. I used it once because the HC stall was in use, and noticed I didn't squeeze at all, I just went in and had room on either side. I love it, I now use it all the time (except if I have kids coming in with me of course) Just a little reminder that I've already come a long way!

Hi,
It might be little things to some, but WOW things to us! I, too, am noticing my legs cross MUUUCH easier, which is great. I didn't feel too delicate having to sit with my legs apart due to lots of thigh, EMBARASSING!!Also, bp is normal AND I am, as of today in the 260's, yay!! It's been FOREVER ago since I was there.
That's great about being able to play with your grandkids - these years will forever seal you into their memories, and they will remember this always.
I'm looking forward to getting back to work looking more like a normal person - being able to fit into meeting chairs, and not bumping my office chair against the back wall just to stand up.
And congrats on the blood pressure & cessation of diabetes!!
My big thing is to ride a rollercoaster again. That's been something I've missed in the last 11 years of obesity. Rollercoasters.
I won't get to do that for a while. We are saving up money for a trip this summer. We're gonna go visit family up in Ohio. We'll drive up with the kids, and when we get to Cincinatti we'll be stoping for a day at Kings Island and hopefully I'll be small enough to ride every single coaster in the park. That's my plan, anyway.
Then we'll go on up to Port Clinton where my family is, and sweet talk one of the aunts and uncles (5 in the area, 2 more in the surrounding areas) to take the kids and we'll be hitting Cedar Point, home of some of the fastest coasters in the world.
So if any of you fellow users are near enough to the Cincy or Fremont area's of Ohio... I'd love to have you join us! Teenage kids would be a bonus... we'll make them watch the young'uns while us adults go have FUN!
