I have always been able to eat after surgery. My third month has approached. I can only eat alittle bit now. Under 2 ounces and I am stuffed. I am 215 lost 59 pounds. I wonder if being smaller is making my appetite go away. I excercise every day. I get all water vitiams and protein in. I just dont eat much. I hope this is normal and I am not turning sick. This is amazing. I use to get hungary and have hunger pains. Now I have no hunger at all. Anyone else go thru this in their 3 month Happy Holidays Barb

I've not been hungry since surgery. I make myself eat. Today at lunch, I ate about a quarter what I normally do. And it made me dump bad. Well... more like foamies from overeating I guess, but I didn't feel full. I don't know. I've still never really felt full. I guess I'm not really helping any.

From being on this website for the last 7-8 months, I'd have to say from reading other's experiences it is completely normal. After surgery all the nerves in your stomach are in the process of healing, thats why you see most people posting, worrying because they don't feel full--- It's just that their nerves aren't responding and telling their brain its full yet. Ive read numerous post's that a couple of months out all of a sudden the full feeling kicks in full force because the nerves in your stomach are now completely healed. Your nerves are now telling your brain your full I wouldnt worry about it one bit. Hubby Lap RNY: 520/428/200

I have not been hungry since having the surgery. I force myself to eat. My undersanding, is that BEFORE surgery when we got the "FULL" feeling that was actually us ALREADY overeating.....streching our stomach out... NOW if we overeat it just comes up..or "foamies" Hunger is actually like "light headedness" etc....where as BEFORE surgery if we were hungry it meant wanted to eat/stomach growling... This surgery was on our "stomachs" and not on our heads, and for myself I know that my HEAD is where the problem is. I look at food and thing I want to eat it, then I try, and assess that I'm not even HUNGRY...thenI eat like 3 bites and I'm done.....LOL VERY FRUSTRATING... Tanya 349/58/**299**/185

I have had hunger after surgery. Some do some dont. I did. It was very fustrating. And beleive ,e it wqas being hungry. Doctor told me to eat once I feel full stop. Thats what I have done. Now I am full with a few ounces. All surgeries and patients and doctors are different. I must be doing something right down 58 pounds and playing with 5 more. I am at 215 from 272...... And it looks like I am going to lose 5 more in the next few days. Happy Holidays Barb

I've been getting full a lot quicker lately too. Maybe it is true that we're healed and our nerve endings are telling our brain's that we're full. The weight is starting to really come off now and my pants are bigger and bigger and people are stopping me and noticing. I wouldn't fret about not being hungry. As long as you're getting in your daily counts, you'll do and be fine! paula

Hi Barb, I seem to have the opposite! I am fighting head hunger. Anyone have any suggestions on that? I also have trouble identifying a 'satisfied' feeling. It's a little frustrating. I find that around 9 at night I want something before I settle in for the night. Usually it's just a pickle with a piece of cheese, but still that's not a meal. I think I am getting in bad habits!! By the way, you're doing great on the weight - we're almost the same!! I'm about 216 from surgery date of 9/16 and surgery weigh in of 269. Also, are you losing every day?? I find that I stay the same for several days, maybe as much as 4 or 5 and then drop a couple. Is that what you do? donna

Hi Donna, My weight loss is strange. I love 10 -15 pounds then I stall. I think of it as firming up. time. But I am like you. At night I want a snack and I have one. Mostley like you a pickle or a wheat crackher and cheese. I am a full believer in hot choclate and hot tea at night. With splenda and protein in one. That keeps me full. Your doing great as well. I only eat 2 meals aday. and one night time snack., I get all my protein water and yes excercise 3 most important things I do. My living room is a gym. I am glad I have a gamily room. When my daughter and kids move out I cam put all that upstairs, She is in beauty college and has been living here. So the house is full. 1900 square feet is not enough for 5 I lose every 2 weeks. I lost most of my weight the first month. I have slowed down to 10-15 pounds a month. Your doing great Happy holiudays Barb

Hi Barb - you lose 10-15 pounds a month!! My gosh - that is fantastic. I haven't lost that much since the first month!! You are really doing great. I like your ideas. What kind of hot chocolate are you drinking. And what two meals do you have? It's sounds like you are doing a great job. You're going to have tons of room when the 'family' relocates! Thanks for your hints. I am still learning!! love donna
