I'm beginning to wonder if I am eating too much. ( Hubby thinks I am) I really don't think I'm getting enough protein or water in . So far today I have had EAS protein drink ( no extra protein , gotta get some) 4 oz of yogurt and an Atkins breakfast bar. That only adds up to about 25 g. protein. The carbs are 35......Can some of you give me an idea of what you are eating. I haven't lost anything in about a week and only lost 1 pound in 2 weeks when I saw my dr. last week. Thanks, Sandy

My eating habits have gotten bad lately since I work too much and I haven't been eating 3 times a day, but normally my menu is something like this: 2 scoops Isopure in 8 ozs of water (50g protein) 2ozs of cheese wrapped in turkey lunchmeat 1/2 can of Healthy Choice soups or homemade chili or homemade soup with shiritaki noodles (tofu noodles) And I drink alot of water. I don't keep track anymore because I know I am getting enough. I drink propel and V-8 through the day also. Beth

Lord knows I'm not the best eater. I have a big glass of milk in the morning. I have another glass of milk for a midmorning snack. For lunch, I eat about 3oz of chicken over an hour or so. Usually as part of a "salad" in which I eat little lettuce, but add cheese to the mix... sometimes bacon bits too. Then I have more milk in the afternoon. And for dinner I usually have about 3-4ozs of some kind of meat or other protein. Fish, often. Shrimp. Steak. Whatever it is my family is having for dinner. And more milk in the afternoon. I never found a shake I liked, but I'm getting around 70-80g of protein, lots of it from milk. And way more calcium than I need from the milk too. And I always have a bottle of water with me. If I'm feeling lightheaded, a sign to me of not enough protein, I have a cheese sandwich. With is two peices of skim american cheese with deli meet between them. Which takes me the better part of a half hour to eat.

I also have started to slow in weight loss. I have lost 61 lbs, I was told that the biggest weight loss is within three months I think I hit a plateau. I was also told I wasn't eating enough calories I was told to eat 1,200 calories a day.

Sandy, I eat three small meals a day, and two snacks. I eat 1000-1200 calories, 90 grams of protein. My meals are 4 to 5 ounces. This is what my Doctor and nutritionist suggested. From reading other posts, I seem to eat more than others, but I'm losing, and it's working for me. I have very few food intolerances, and I am open to trying new things. This is what a typical day looks like for me. Snack: Protein shake, made with one cup of milk Water Breakfast: 1/2 cup of Go Lean Cereal, 1 Tbls dry fruit (blueberries or chopped prunes), 2 oz of milk Water Lunch: 3oz Tuna, mixed with mayo, small salad with balsamic dressing, 6 melba rounds. Water Snack: 12 peanut butter filled pretzels (from Trader Joes) Water or Crystal Light Dinner: 3oz Chicken, Veggies roasted, about a ¼-1/2 cup Water or Crystal Light I use fitday.com to keep track. It's been real helpful, especially when I travel for work. Hope this helps. Keep trying until you find something that works for you. Linda R

Hi Sandy, I LOVE this forum!! I was all set to send a post asking what people were eating, how much, and when and lo and behold! Here's your message. I am worried that I don't eat enough at meals and then get hungry in just a few hours. I eat more than three times a day, but I don't eat that much. I thought Linda's response to your post was great and I'm going to start tracking on fitday as well. donna

I feel like I eat too much also, but when I break it down, it really isn't that much, but I'm not sure anymore what is normal. The problem is that I can eat anything. Sugar doesn't bother me nor does carbination. This makes it much more tempting to each crap. I have not tempted fate and eaten more than a bite of anything with sugar in it so it is possible I'll dump if I eat more than a little bit. I worry about the protein, but I try to make sure that every meal has some kind of meat. I know I don't eat enough veggies. I feel great though! I keep thinking that if I was lacking in something, I wouldn't feel as good as I do. Then I worry that I feel great now, but it might catch up with me later. Argh! I worry too much.

Im having the oposite problem. Hubby had surgery the same day as you--- and I can't get him to eat--- he hates protein bars, and shakes of any kind. Im constantly nagging him, he just doesnt feel like eating. Yesterday his menu consisted of a 3/4 oz peice of cheese, some beef jerky, and a few baked beans w/ cheese--- maybe 1-2 oz. He has a hard time eating more than 1-2 oz at a time.... and I nag nag nag him, trying to get him to eat, and he just won't *sigh* I can't find anything he wants to eat.

Hi Sandy, I'm not big on protein shakes, so I've had to make sure MOST of my diet is made up of high protein foods. Here's what I eat to help ensure that I meet my needs: 1. Low Fat Cottage Cheese. 1/2 cup has 14 grams of protein. I eat this for breakfast every morning. Plus it goes down super easy and never gives me any problems. 2. Beef Jerkey. 1 oz usually has 12 grams of protein. I eat it as a snack, since I find it to be pretty satisfying, too (stays in my pouch for a while). 3. Soy Crisps from Trader Joes. These have about 7 grams of protein per serving, and satisfy my desires for crunchy, salty foods. 4. Hard Boiled eggs. I keep a few in my fridge at all times, because they are so easy to eat on the go, and do a great job of taking away hunger. Each egg has about 6 or 7 grams of protein. If I'm just having a salad for lunch or dinner, I always chop one up and add it to the greens. Hope this helps! Sascha

I am still not able to eat much. My day usually goes like this: Pro-V 60 Protein shake made with 1 c skim milk (30 g protein plus what is in the milk - I don't count it) Cashews or Almonds (4-5 at a time several times a day - I am in my car alot due to my job so I keep them in the car) Cheese Slice 2nd Protein Shake - made the same way I eat 1-2 s/f popcicles in the evening. I get 5-6 12 oz bottles of water in a day. I can only drink flavored water- usually Raspberry Dasani or Nestle Pure Life Raspberry Splash. I am loosing slowly - Dr. said it is because I don't eat enough. I have tried to eat more..it just will not go in (or stay in ) I also take my Vits every day - One of them fills me up for at least an hour! My therory is this: I will get my nutritional needs met through Protein shakes and vitamins. Eating food is simply a recreational activity. I don't think it is possible for me to care any less about food. Eating is such a hassle (and frustration) for me now. ~Emily 285/222/147
