slow losers club?
One of the replies to my post about slow losers suggested a slow losers club for September. Any takers? I certainly am a candidate. I am not complaining by any means, just have been a little nervous about if the weight didn't come off w/in 6 months, would I reach goal. I am addicted to the scale, and need to stop the madness!!!!! I see that 32 lbs and counting is pretty good even if its not the same pace as some of the faster losers out there. Good luck! We will reach our goal!
Carliss,
I'm in!
How about if we have a weekly post inviting the "slow losers" to post their stats, wows, feelings, rants, etc.
From your original post, everyone's responses made me feel better that I was not the only one. It seems that there are cluster of us that started at comparable BMIs and that are losing at about the same rate.
If not alot of interest, then we can at least provide encouragement to each other.

Hi Everyone
Had surgery on sept 21 and have lost 36# SO i know i can be part of the slow losers club lol
It seems that everyone that i know that has had this surgery was loosing at a faster rate...
so what's the problem with me??? or us???? I'm just hoping we will make up for it soon and loose 10# in a week doesn't that sound good??
thanks for not making me feel like i'm the only slow one out there!!!
I too was becoming a little disappointed with my "slow" weight loss - 33lbs.
A friend pointed out that not only would I have been thrilled with this weight loss on any other diet in the past, but also it is gone for good!
I lose and then stall for a while, sometimes even putting on a pound which I then have to lose all over again. It's bizarre because I am keeping to the rules very strictly. Perhaps it's my age -50 -, perhaps it's my body's reaction to 35 years of yo-yo dieting, perhaps it's sometimes not eating enough (who would have believed that excuse before!!!).
Anyway, I can't give up this time, so it'll all come off in the end.
I'll join the Slow Losers Club>
I am also a scale-a-holic ! I get on in the morning and then at night. But I only register the weight on Monday. Then that way I don't get too upset. I go see my surgeon on Dec 5 so then I will see what his scale says. His and mine are generally the same. He hasn't been worried about the weight loss because I had a complication ( infection) so I had to have extra calories and protein thru my G- tube till last week. My thoughts are when I did Atkins two years ago it took me about 4 months to lose 30 pounds and I gained it back. I would rather lose slowly and steady and not see it come back. Another pro is that this way I won't look like a shar pei because I lost so much so fast .

I'm in, too! In reading this and other "slow loser" postings on the September board, I'm actually thinking our problem may not be slow weight loss, but unrealistic expectations. We all seem to be around the same place -- which, by the way, is exactly where my surgeon said we'd be, 10-15 lbs weight loss per month for the first six months. Having said that, I love the idea of a monthly stats posting where we can all see how we are doing -- because I think we'll find we're all doing just fine!
Love you all!
I'm in. I have lost 38lbs. My surgery was 9/13/05. Get very frustrated when I don't have a loss. I'm bad with the skale too. I try not to get on it every day but it is hard sometimes. This is the first holiday that I didn't have a gain so I guess that is a positive thing. I register my weight every Wednesday.I don't go back to my surgeon until January, I'm hoping I have at least lost 50lbs by then.
