we had surgery the same day...I haven't really felt "full" at all. There are days that I wonder if the surgery was really done ... with the exception that I have never lost this much weight in my life. I don't really eat much at all. I drink protein shakes - 3 daily and I drink anywhere from 68 to 100 ounces of water each day...I take all my vitamins. There are things that I know I can eat but I have no desire for food...and the foods that I haven't tried I don't want to because I am worried about getting sick. My feeling is...as long as I have my protein shakes, my vitamins and my water...I'll be fine. As for feeling "full"...my surgeon told me that I should eat until I am "satisfied" once that happens to stop eating. Wish I could help more! Linda

I posted about this "stuck" feeling a couple weeks ago. I went to my Dr and there is no stricture. Yesterday I thought I was doing better because at lunch I went to Chili's and bought a cup of cheddar broccoli soup and was able to eat about 1/2 of it (normally I eat about 3 bites and I get STUCK). I was so excited that I ate! Then last night I cooked some fish for myself and had 2 bites and got STUCK! So waited for an hour, felt better, then ate one of my trusty SF popsicles and it got stuck, I proceeded to vomit 3 times over the next 1.5 hours.... EWWW!! Now today, I can barely eat or drink again, I am getting STUCK on a sip of water. A friend of my mothers had this surgery a little over a year ago and said she had the same thing and just had to keep trying and pressing on... I cry at night cuz I feel like a failure. I can not get in enough protein or fluids. My mother had the surgery the same day as me and she is eating a LOT of different things.... Very Depressing!!! Sorry I didnt have much to help you with or to uplift your spirits, but wanted you to know you are not alone! Hugs! Anne-Marie

Thank you all so much, well today I tried something different, I remember it said to put gravy on my food/meat and tried a lean cuisine today meatloaf and mashed potatoes. I ate maybe 6 bites and kept it down no stuck feeling. So, I guess when I reflect when I have thrown up it has been on foods with a dryer consistancy. So gravy and sauce may be the trick. I am glad I am not alone and we can all help eachother get through this. Jaira
