Sept. 9 surgery, still eat bites and full! Help??

Ok, I eat one bite or 3 bites and feel like I ate a turkey dinner. 2 weeks ago I could eat more and it seems as time has passed I eat less and less to almost nothing, yesterday I ate a half a protein bar that's it, I tried eating some tuna with crakers and it made me full and sick after three bites and threw it up. Later I tried eating some cashews and one bite threw it up too. This morning I tried yogurt it worked. I have not really tried new foods due to fear. I eat a craker with cheese and am stuffed, am I the only one who eats so little. I see people eating steak fish etc. I am sick of the same soft stuff but other stuff seems to get stuck or I get that uncomfortable feeling. Is anyone else having this problem?

i am right with you. My kids say 3 bites and you are done mom. They count and get upset if I do not get 3 in. I am shocked when I read about what others can eat. they are lucky in my eyes. I try new things and see where it goes. good luck to you.

My Hubby says I have a straight pipe! That i do not have a new tummy.. LOL

I eat until I am full then I stop. It is 3-4 ounces -more is I eat soup or salad. I am still losing weight down 52 pounds in 8 weeks. I wonder why some people can eat and others cant. I could not imagine only 3 bites of food. I would feel deprived. I hope I am okay Take Care Barb

I'm just now able to eat 1 oz. of cheese at a time. I can't eat much at all, except for soup because I drink the broth so it seems like I'm eating more. I'd talk to your doc about having a stricture though; it seems you are vomiting a lot. Are you chewing REALLY well and eating REALLY slow?? When I eat certain foods or if I eat too fast, I throw up too. Good luck.

Jaira, actually the three bites probably is pretty smart. I tend to overeat!! I need to measure (4 oz) and stick with it. I see it's there (like the old clean your plate days) and just keep eating. Then I throw up!! I don't really think (other than how I feel about eating the same thing and getting in a rut) that if you eat the same thing for awhile it is bad. Our pouch is so so sensitive and I just think it really needs some TLC at times. I'm like you - steak!! No way! I am afraid to even try it. Chicken doesn't always work for me either. Have you talked to your doctor/nutritionist about this? I had told mine that I get sick and he said as long as I don't throw up after everything I eat and drink. You are lucky though that you know to stop after three bites. I have to do that. Or else I'm going to be a big fat pig again!!! I guess it's head hunger. Oh, and something else, sometimes I just can't stand the stuck feeling I get and I stick my finger down my throat to unstick it. Is this bad??? I hope not. donna

I know what you mean Last week I could have eat at least a 1/2 a cup now its 3 bites and that it my stomach will hurt if I eat more than that what up with this. Judy

Jaira, I had that feeling about a month after surgery(9-16-2005). I would eat just a few bites and would feel so full..it felt like my stomach was so full that the food I was eating would just sit on top. Well I finally called my doctor when I just stopped eating and he dilated the opening to my stomach. Now I have no problem...I still only eat about a 1/4 of a cup to a 1/2 of cup of food at a time but at least I can get stuff down without throwing it up. I also don't feel hungery at all anymore and actually have to make myself eat three meals but I am told that is very normal. Melanie
