Foaming at the mouth...LOL
I remember reading a post somewhere that someone was feeling this foaming sensation in their throat (and mouth?). I thought it was kinda weird, but guess what - Yep!!! I have it now!!! SIGH......
I can not find the post that was talking about this to see if there were any replies. Particulary how to deal with this or get rid of it.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with the foaming or to get rid of it, PLEASE let me know. I have started taking Pepcid AC 2x a day and it isnt helping.
Thank you,
Anne-Marie
Hi Anne-Marie,
I'm not sure if I can be any hel*****t because I haven't had this happen to me yet... My sister had RNY in 2000 and has the foamies once in a while. It seems to be when she eats meat (harder to go down) and bread products. Perhaps eatting to quickly attributes to this as well..not sure. She doesn't do anything but just tough it out, spitting in a paper cup until her body is through, which is frustrating I know. If you have a problem digesting meat, say it's "stuck" , I've read where some here had drank a concoction of meat tenderizer and water. Just shooting in the dark here but wanted to try. Take care and hope it's not a regular thing with you!

Thank you both for your suggestions.
Although - this happens to me ALL the time... whether I eat or not. I have even woken up with it. I guess I am just weird. It never comes all the way up, as I ususally drink something to wa**** down. If I chew gum when I am not eating, it doesn't happen. But you know - a person can only chew so much gum...LOL
I will see how things go over the next week or so and call the Dr if need be, AFTER Thanksgiving weekend though.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE!!!
Anne-Marie
Unfortunately, happens to me a couple of times a week. I've tied it to two things: eating too fast or too much, and dense proteins like chicken and fish, especially if they are too dry. Best prevention: eat slow, chew well, small bites, moisten things with sauces or gravy, stop before you feel completely full. Once I get it, sometimes there's no choice but to , but it doesn't always work. Small sips of liquids, especially peppermint tea, help. If you are at home, lie down on your left side (aids digestion) for about a half hour. And then, once you're past it, eat softer foods that go down well for you for at least the next half day.
Good luck. It's a yucky feeling, isn't it?
