Goodmorning everyone! I thought it would be kinda fun for all of us to check in on our progress being as though we all had surgery in the same month. I'll start................ I had surgery 9-12 with a starting weight of 290. I'm a little over 2 months out and now weigh 234! Down 56 lbs Went from a size 24 in jeans and 3x in tops to a size 20 in jeans and a size 1x in tops Had a little trouble with meat at first but now seem to be mellowing out. Finally found a protein drink I like and drink one a day now along with increasing my water intake and starting at Gold's Gym had really amped up my weight loss. Just really starting to enjoy life! I've been totally into cooking latley, finding new recipe's. Especialy anything that can be made in the crockpot since meat always come out so tender and moist. Anyone have any recipes????? Okay now it's your turn........ How ya been? Krista

I had surgery 9-21 with a starting weight of 272. I'm a little over 7 weeks out and now weigh 220! Down 52 lbs Went from a size 22 in jeans and 2x in tops to a size 18 in jeans and a size 1x in tops. I eat what the family eats. Except certain foods. I cook low fat and fry I do not eat heavy carbs. I get all my protein water and excercise in. I am very happy with this surgery. Much better than I thought. My skin is doing really well with shrinking. Take Care Barb

Wow Barb! excellent! I worry about excess skin but I am doing the best I can to help it along. I dont have too much just a little under the arms so far. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what I'm left with. I sure dont want to go threw anymore surgery's though. Size 18! Thats fabulous! I cant wait till I get there! Krista

Krista, Down 35 pounds in 7 weeks. Slow going but not excercising like I should. I know, same excuses as before. I have five teenage boys ( one autistic) and he and I are going to walk more together so I can get more excercise in. Anyway, I LOVE my crockpot. I am not the cook that my husband is, so it is way easier for me to use that instead of watching the clock on the stove etc. This time of year is also perfect for those crockpot meals. I found a TON of recipies for the crockpot at flylady.net Scroll down the left side until it says food for thought or recipies or something like that. It is a huge website. I will try to find the link if you have any trouble finding them. There are alot and I have tried SO many before and after. Today, I have a pork roast in my huge crockpot that is falling off the bone as we speak ( There is 8 in our familly) and I will add BBQ sauce before they all get home to have bbq pork sandwhiches. I probably won't have any with bbq but may chop some up in my magic bullet Great job at this by the way..)

I know what you mean about exercising more! I try and go 5 times a week but most weeks am lucky to get in 3. Walking is underated! I spent the first 2 months of my recovery walking 3 miles a day and it did wonders for me! Keep up the good work! Thanks for the web site! I am gonna go check that out. I am cooking some boneless ribs in mine right now. Yumm the house smells so good! Thanks for participating... Krista

hiya Krista... this is a great idea The morning of the surgery I was exactly 300 lbs...I am now just about 10 weeks out (tomorrow) and have lost 47 pounds...I have gone from a size 26 pants to a 22 (all my workout clothes are 18/20) .. tops have gone from a 3x to 1x or 18/20..I definately see a major difference from the waist up but don't see that much happening from the waist down. I measured myself this morning before showering...since 11/8/05 I have lost a total (neck, arms, legs, waist, etc) of 17.5 inches...I don't see the pounds falling off but the inches are making me feel better. The most important part is that I am going to the gym every night after work and I feel so much better than I did 3 months ago. I need recipes too...I don't cook much (it's just me now) during the week but if I could cook on the weekend and eat it during the week that would be great for me! Thanx for doing this! hugssssssssss...Linda

You are doing awesome Linda!!!!!! It's funny, I know how much I have lost and I feel great!, but at the same time I still see a porker when I look in the mirror. I guess the hardest thing to loose is that fat image of yourself. That is so great that you make it to the gym every night! I am trying to get into that habbit but it is a slow comin. Kep up the great work....and let me know if you come across any must have recipes. Thanks Krista
