Hey everyone. Well my family had pizza for dinner and I had the meat and cheese off of 2 slices.Do you all think it was too much? I took about 35 minutes to eat it.It was a meat lovers from a local pizza place here.I also had a whole apple today(no skin).I couldn`t help the apple I was so craving it lol.I just don`t want to fail my tool. I am going back to measuring tomorrow. Michelle

You are fine. I dont see how come it took so long to eat. When I cheated I had a real small piece I ate crust and all- God I felt like punching myself. I eat meat and sauce and cheese now, I dont see where you went wrong. Take Care Barb

I'm so glad you mentioned this, b/c I've been having the cheese off of pizza and it's agreed with me fine, but I wondered if I shouldn't. I didn't even consider that I could have the meat. Duh. I'm going to try that next time. Since we're talking about "bad days", does anyone know if I would dump if I had a small piece of candy? I was just wondering. I haven't dumped yet and don't want to. I've had a couple of grapes, but that's all in the sugar department. Shannon

Hi Shannon. Only you can find out if you'll dump with a small piece of candy. We're all different. Depending on how much sugar is in one piece of the candy, and if you easily dump, will determine if you will indeed dump from it. Paula

I ate the toppings off of a slice of pizza the other day too! I don't see why it's so wrong. I actually ate small tiny bites of a "very thin crusted" pizza the other day and I was fine. Maybe wasn't the best choice for a meal as far as "good eating" goes, but I longed for something "normal" for a change. As far as the apple goes, as long as you chewed it well and it agreed with you, it's a good carb for your diet. I've yet to try one. Paula

I agree with you all that toppings off of pizza isn't bad...I would watch the crust...I actually ate some crust the other day and boy, it filled me up! My dh and I went out the other night and I got West Indies Salad (lump crab meat salad)...and it was awesome! I am craving tart things!!! no sweets! I also had some apple slices...I was craving fruit! I have a baby shower to go to tonight, and it is desserts and coffee...I think I may die just from the smell of the sweets! They make me sick...I can tell you I won't be trying anything with sugar in it for a while! Just my $.02 worth! ~~em

I was never a big pizza eater before this surgery. There were many foods that I knew I would be missing after surgery and I tried to eat them all before. Pizza was not one of them. Now however, the pizza commercials are killing me. Pizza never looked so good. I haven't tried eating any yet but I have fantasized about it. As far as the dumping goes, I dump very easily. I even dumped on my vitamins. Having dumped many times, I don't recommend it. It truly is very powerful incentive to NEVER eat sugar again. I cringe at the thought of eating a piece of candy!!! If I were you, I wouldn't try it. Take care, Jacinda

I agree with Paula - I don't see why it is wrong to eat the toppings off of a slice of Pizza! Maybe I look at things differently but here is my theory: I get all my needed nutrition from my Protein shakes and vits...eating real food is simply a "recreational activity" Truthfully, food does not interest me at all. At just over 9 weeks out I can still only eat 2-4 bites of any "real" food and I know that I could never (at least at this stage) get my daily requirements just from eating and also that there is no way I could eat enough food to really make a difference in my weight loss. I am doing good to swallow my vits - one pill totally fills me up - and I take 4 total a day. I guess my Dr must have made my pouch extra small or something..LOL I am averaging over 5# a week 285/238/147 (-47#) I know that lots of others are able to eat real food in larger portions, but I will remain thankful that I can't. It is frustrating to me not to be able to eat more than just a couple bites, but my Dr. said to consider it a blessing. I sure don't want to pu**** and take a chance on stretching my pouch. I know everyone is different and everyone has to find their own way on this new road we have all chosen to travel. I am grateful to OH for these forums - they are the best for support and information. I hope everyone has a good day and a wonderful Weekend! Emily

I think as long as you are aware of your pouch while you're eating, and you stop the second you feel fullness, you're fine. And amazingly, pizza toppings have agreed with me on days when nothing seems to. I can't eat sausage though.
