I am 2 months post-op and I am absolutely miserable...I'm actually beginning to wonder if I really had this surgery. Physically I feel great...better than I have in a long time. Mentally .. I'm done. here's the short story... surgery 9/9 - omg I was thrilled...lost 26 pounds in 2 weeks..felt great weeks 3 & 4 didn't lose an ounce...I accepted the "stall" due to my body healing...weeks 5 & 6 lost about 10 pounds...week 6 joined Ladies Workout Express and have been going 5 days a week...week 7 & 8 lost about 8 pounds...week 9 gained back 2 pounds. I went down 2 pants sizes and 3 blouse sizes...new clothes (used but new to me) felt great on me... for the last 2 days my jeans are tight..my knee hurts again..I feel bloated constantly (not my TOM ..had hysterectomy 8 years ago)..and nothing is going right with this body. I feel as tho I am wasting my time drinking 60 oz of water per day...drinking protein shakes...eating cottage cheese, cream of wheat, soup, yogurt, chicken....and nothing is happening. I feel horrible. I am not hungry AT ALL...yet I eat because the surgeon says that's the only way I will lose weight..so I eat 3 meals per day and feel full constantly... If something doesn't happen soon I may just give this up...not sure it's really worth it. so it wasn't all that "short" of a story but thanx for letting me vent...I'll accept any suggestions anyone might have for me... thanx...Linda

I think you are doing great... I dont know why your complaining... When you excercise fat turns to musle and sometimes you might put a pound or 2 on... And why would give up. Makes no since. Your weight loss is great and your feeling great.. My doctor said the average person loses 10 pounds a week. The slower you lose it the better your skin will be Please pick your self up... Your doing great Hugs Barb

Linda, You are doing great with your WL, is there something else in your life getting you down? Some days are better than others, perhaps you need to look at other causes of your bloating: milk intolerance, too much salt, wheat intolerance?? Just a few suggestions. Sorry that you are feeling like this. I know some days are just like that..... Denise 253/s232/198/140

maybe you should put your scale away. as long as you are doing everything right you will lose. you must just wait until your body is ready to release it. yes there will be days when we will be bloated and such but that comes again from the body and maybe the soup had a little extra salt or something. you are doing above good. keep up the good work. and don't fret the small stuff. you're doing good. I agree with the rest of the ladies Linda, I think you are getting fed up because the weight is not coming off fast enough lol. It takes quite awhile for all of this to actually happen and for us to lose it all. It does not happen overnight. I think you should count your blessing today instead of feeling sorry for yourself. Maybe you are havingmental food withdrawls? What else can you do besides what you have been doing? It is not as if you could eat more. If you eat less, you could make yourself so sick that that they would have to feed you intraveiniously. You are exercising, which I am sure you haven't done in years, you are losing weight, you are drinking water, no alcohol or smoking, admit it! You are getting HEALTHY! That is such a wonnderful thing...even if the weight loss is slower than you want it to be. Keep your head up and smile! The big picture is BEAUTIFUL! Beth

Just out of curiosity, how would you give up? That's the beauty of this surgery, you can't give up when it gets rough. I'm right there with you. I hate protein shakes, but choke them down anyway, I have a terrible time getting water down, and I'm starting to hate eating. Who would've thought: me, hate eating? I haven't lost any weight in over 2 weeks. This is my second stall that has lasted over 2 weeks. But you know what? This is just a short period in our lives. As long as you do the best you can, that's all you can do. The weight will come off in its own time. It sucks to have to be patient, but next Christmas, when I'm wearing the cute little black dress, I'll look back and think that this is all worth it. We'll get through this. Being healthy is never a waste of time.

hi, Linda. Don't get discouraged. I went through the same thing. I am 8 weeks post op and have lost 40 pounds but went through a similar time. I went through a two week stall and started feeling very discouraged. I felt bloated, tired, moody, and just generally did not feel well. I too felt like just giving up. But considering we can't eat the same way as before that would be pretty hard. I read somewhere on the boards that if you eat every two to three hours it would help end the stall. Well, I started eating a couple of bites of protein every couple of hours, drinking water like crazy and the bloated and achy feelings went a way and the weight loss restarted. I think that for some of use these symptons are just a part of the fast weight loss we are experiencing. It throws us all out of wack. I am sure it will get better. Wishing you all the best Cyndie
