8 weeks and still shaky
I am still having a problem sometimes with getting shaky or feeling week.I went shopping on Sunday and had to sit down after 10minutes. Is anyone else feeling like this? I have a call into my nutritionist to see if I need to get the b12 shot instead of the pill. It could be low iron . I haven't had a blood test yet. I am suposed to get that done next month. Any ideas? I want to start my Christmas shopping , but I will never last in the mall feeling like this.

I do take the b12 under the tongue. I take one a day. I am taking the multi vitamin and calcium . I must be low on something. I drink at least 64 oz of liquids a day. I try to get at least 50 protien. I usually do by drinking the protien shakes. I am still waiting for diatition to call me back. I just sent her an e-mail and told her to call me at home . I hope she does. Maybe I just need to change what I am eating. Can you take more than one of the b12 ? Thanks for your advise.

Hi,
I'm six weeks out today and I just went to the doctor (my regular PCP) yesterday because I'm feeling so weak and shaky.
My BP was very low...100/60 and he told me to add some salt to my diet. So, I have a bouillion cube in ho****er w/ a scoop of protein in it.
He ran a lot of blood tests to see is my B12 or iron of something else may be "off".
He told me that there's a lot of trauma that the body goes through with a "huge" operation like our's...to give it time.
On top of it all, I have a virus (cold sores on my face, may be shingles) and it's bringing me down big time. He gave me an anti-viral med and I'm hoping to feel better soon.
We've gone through a lot, we have to give it time...I'm wondering how I'm going to do the shopping for Christmas, too. I can barely get through our Super Walmart for the necessities now...I hope that I'll feel stonger soon.
Keep me posted. I'm glad to read that I'm not the only one.

I too am feeling weak, shaky and lightheaded. But I had about three weeks of fighting an infection. I was hospitalized for 17 days and for a good two weeks was not able to eat or drink anything. Now that I am back home I have been slowly able to eat and drink more each day. I am also back on my vitamins. They actually told me to slow down on my protein because it might be contributing to my diarhea. I am taking so many meds to control the diarhea. But, it is getting better and I feel a LITTLE/TINY bit stronger each day. Hey! That's still progress in the right direction! Let me know if you figure out anything that works! Have a blessed day!

Another thing to consider is that you could be drinking TOO MUCH! If you drink too much you dilute the nutrients you are getting which in turn makes your body feel washed out. It's not a common thing, but if you say "at least 64 oz" it makes me believe you could drink more than that regularly... limit yourself to 64 for a few days and see what happens... and yes, that includes your protein shakes and everything else. As for the b12 I take 1000mcg a day they only suggest 500 post op, but it makes a huge difference for me energy wise.
HUGS You'll get through this!
