Pain under left rib

I know that I am a little hyper about my aches and pains, but I have had a few problems so far with this surgery. Maybe this is normal, but I just started having really sharp stabbing pain under my left rib. It really hurts when I bend over. It hurts all the time, not just after I have eaten or drank something. Just wondering if I should be alarmed or if it is normal to have this pain. Thank you, Christine
