feeling bloated not loosing!!!
I am concerned because I have not loss any weight for 2 weeks. I am 2 months out and lost 35 pounds but my weight keep fluctuating a few pounds but not really going down. I can't possible be eating enough calories to maintain a weight of 250 but at the same time I can eat alot of things such as meats that alot of people on here can't or have trouble with. I feel very normal when it comes to eating. Sometimes I wonder how big my pouch is or if something is wrong. I workout mostly cardio 3-4 times weekly. Protein is an issue as for as protein drings but I eat alot of protein. I am also feeling very bloated and have been having sporatic tummy aches. I am not constipated however I don't do alot when I go so maybe I need a laxative to get really cleaned out. (sigh) I just don't know what to do. Please help!!!!!!!!
Hi Kimmy,
Don't feel badly! I think that a 35 lb loss is great! Take a deep breath and exhale...
Let's see...are you measuring your food? It is important to weigh out your food and eat only that...Weigh out 1-2 ounces of meat and measure our your veggie, etc. We can't count on the size of our pouches to let us guage the quantities that we'll put in. For me, I can eat a lot of salad and it seems that my pouch must be huge, then I eat one ounce of chicken and it fills me right up. Go figure.
Make sure you always have protein at every meal and you eat that first, then your veggies and starch/carb.
When you do your cardio, are you getting your heartrate up high enough? You have to walk for at least 30-45 min to keep the rate high enough to get your body's metabolic rate in a zone where it'll realize that it's ok to let go of the fat.
As far as constipation goes, if you're going daily, you're not constipated. If your quantity is small, that's because you're not eating a lot these days.
Are you drinking a lot of water? Get in at least 64 ounces a day or more. I find that I have to get in at least 70 ounces to keep the bowels moving and stay hydrated.
Hang in there...your body is adjusting from major surgery, anesthesia, and now a new way of eating that's confusing the heck out of your body. Give it time to catch up and I'm sure you'll see results soon.
Maybe adjust your eating a bit, add in new things, take some things away to see if maybe there's something with too much fat or sodium that may be causing a stall?
It's all trial and error with this new way of life!

thank you soooo much Paula. I agree I maybe eating too much and things that are just not good for weight loss. I have a true addiction to fried foods and I have had some. I really hate that my pouch isn't soo retrictive but I know good choice/bad choices so I need to do right. I think I need to add more water that may be the problem. When I excercise I do 45 min 3-4 times a week. Mostly 4. I just have a fear that I will not loose this weight. I am scared!
I feel your pain Kimmy. I can eat just about anything too with no problems at all. A week ago, eggbeaters with cheese made me vomit (I don't know why because I have eaten them since 2 weeks out, minus the cheese), but other than that, I can eat all foods I have tried including tomato juice and tomato sauce ( which is acidic), hot sauce, and meats. I tried lean hamburger (which I rinse in ho****er to make sure all of the cooked off fat is gone) last night in taco seasoning and it went down just fine. I have no problem with carbs or meats. By carbs, I have eaten Healthy CHoice CHicken Noodle and I had no problems. I think in the future, I may have to restrict my carbs, but for right now, I do eat some carbs still like 100% whole grain Wheat Thins, tomato juice, and soups. I figure when weight loss gets really tough, then I'll switch to a south beach type diet to kick it up again.
Hang in there. If you are doing everything you know is right, the weight will have nowhere else to go but off. I did notice that your BMI is lower than most of us, so you may have less to lose that some of us and therefore it will happen a bit slower.
