Why can I only eat a few bites and am full
I had my surgery on 9-9-05 I can tolerate soups with veges and beans, cottage cheese not much meat. I eat about 4 bites in 6 minutes and I am full. It is like this everyday, I get full so fast and only after a few bites. I also get that stuck feeling on occasion. I am losing very slowly also about 30lbs, not really exersizing though. I have tried some new foods, I took one bite of spaghetti and it was stuck and ended up throwing it up. Maybe I am not chewing well enough, I am not sure. I have been a little depressed losing food as my companion but well, I'll get over it. Most the time I would rather drink protein than eat, eating seems to be a hassle and nothing really seems enjoyable anymore. I had some sugar free, fat free ice cream and it even made me a little nauseated. Is this normal or is something wrong am I eating too fast why do I eat so little?
Oh god... eating is torture and I dread it. I just moved to solid food and I'm SOOO unhappy about it. I'd much rather either have purree or something like that. I hate that stuck feeling.
But we're both new to solid foods. I think it just takes time. My nutritionist said two protien shakes and a glass of milk is enough for now, till we can eat easier.
I am the same way. The bummer part is that I am really feeling hunger at "normal" times during the day. I thought I would have that Not Hungry feeling longer. I agree with both of you. Eating is just not fun right now. I opt for my shakes as well, as most meats feel "stuck" for hours.
Funny thing is, I found I can tolerate Dennisons Fat Free Chili with Beef fine (about 1/4 cup), and have just started on tofu instead of meat. Chicken is absolutely out, as it feels stuck after one bite.
In good company guys...

HI Jaira,
We have the same surgery date, and I feel exactly the same way. That stuck feeling is aweful! I don't really have an appetite right now, and would really prefer not to eat anything at all. I have to force myself to eat breakfast and dinner.
I also feel like I am losing slowly (about 30 lbs)
Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Your surgery date sista, Jodie
