A little sad...........
I was reading the Sept. updates and I thought I was doing fairly well on my weight loss until I read everyone elses. Heck, I wish I was losing as much as some of you are. I am 7 weeks out and I have lost 35lbs. I will take it don't get me wrong! Heck I couldn't lose 35 lbs in 6 months before! If any of you are doing anything special please let me know.I get all or more of my protein in daily, but I haven't really been exercising that much. I am also getting periods of nausea after every meal.It seems to last about thirty minutes or so. Anyone else experiencing this? Thanks.....
Hi Michelle, I had surgery 9/6/05, I lost 45 pounds, but I see that some people have lost 50-60lbs, so I know what you mean. The only rational thinking that I have about this is that it depends on how much you need to lose. (the heavier lose weight quickly in the beginning.
I too have nausea, after every meal.
I hear it gets better... just waiting

Hi Michelle,
Don't fret...everyone loses at their own rate. You may wake up one day and find that you've lost 6 pounds in one day. Our bodie's are trying to figure out what the heck we've done to them!
Exercise is the key, I've found. If I don't get out for a half hour walk, I don't lose. Try to get out and walk for five or ten minutes at first if your'e not used to it..then slowly build yourself up. That's what I had to do and it's slowly working.
Getting that heart rate up and getting your bodies' metabolic rate up is the key to telling it that you're not starving yourself and to get moving and lose!
Try getting out more, ok? And let us know!
Not really any nausea here, just a really bad full feeling between the breasts when I have one bite too many...ouch.
take care...you're doing GREAT!!!!!!

good Sunday morning Michelle...
I had my surgery on 9/9/05 and I have lost somewhere between 38 & 44 lbs... (the scale varies daily) I am worried about the same things you are...we are all in the same boat ... so you're not alone. I thought that I could lose somewhere around 50 pounds by the 2 month mark and it's not going to happen. I do go to the gym daily (even if I only do the treadmill for 15 mins)...we NEED to exercise...if you can't do a gym then get out to your nearest jr high or high school and walk the track...that's how I started. first week once around (normally it's a 1/4 mile round)...2nd week twice...3rd week 3 times...up to a mile. with the fall air it feels good in your lungs too and gets the blood pumping.
as for the nausea...I don't get that but it could be that you're eating too fast...try and slow it down just a bit.
eveyone says that if you use the tool...it will work!
have a great Sunday!
hugsssssssssssssss....Linda
Michelle,
I had my surgery 9/30/05. I am losing very slowly so I talked to my nutitionalist. He explained that you cannot compare your weightloss with others unless you are starting at the same BMI. If your BMI started out at 44 or less, you can expect to lose about 40 lbs at 3 months. I don't know about other BMI's because I am in this range. He also said nausea may be caused by slightly over eating, eating too fast or not chewing each bite throughly. I have done all three.
Hope you feel better soon.
Lee
I'm right here with you, I'm 8½ weeks out, if I'm lucky I'm down 40lbs (haven't weighed myself for a while) I've stalled 3 times already, once at one week, once at 3 weeks, and then once when I went back in for a stricture. I'm also noticing that the scale goes up about 10 lbs in a day during that time of month and that's not helping me much, it's like a step back for every step forward.
I feel like I'm failing this surgery but at the same time I know that I never would have lost this weight without it.
I'm frustrated with you... all of you.
Hugs
Rachel
