My incision looks red is this normal 3 weeks out

My incision is read a nd alittle sore. Is this normal at three weeks. There are no leaks. Thanks for your help. I did have open Barb

My incision is red and leaking, my Dr tole me as long is the skin isn't hot and the drainage doesn't smell, and I don't have a fever it is okay. It doesn't hurt to give the nurse in his office a call and ask what they think. Good luck. Annette

Do you mean that it's simply *still* red, and you think it should have healed more by now, or do you mean that it's red now when it wasn't before? If it's a change, then it's something to talk to your surgeon abouit. If it's just that you were expecting it to heal faster, it's normal. Mine has been itching for about two weeks, but this last week it made HUGE progress in healing. (note - I'm about a week ahead of you). --BT

It is still the same color. I just think it is slow at healing... I just pulled all the glue off the 10 in*****ission. and really noticed it more. I think it will be okay.. I just worry to much,,, Thanks Barb

Hi Barb I am 4 weeks out. I had laparascopic RNY and all 6 of my scars are still red and some are tender. this is normal my doc says.Keep up the protein and ur vitamins to help healing. I use Maderma for scars to clear them up a little. Michelle
