Do not get on the scale for awhile. All of us with wls have fast and slow moments of loosing weight.Look at the long term picture. How will you look a year from now.Concentrate on getting your protein, water, vitamins, and exercise in each day.Put the scale in the closet.Take it out each month. You'll feel better. No news is good news.
hey Paula, you should come into the Main Chatroom, this is the topic that people worry about the MOST, whether newly post or years out! And EVERYone says what the posts said before me, don't worry about it, it varies, just stay focused and you'll be fine! Your body has been thru a HUGE adjustment, you have to give it time hun! I learned from the wonderful ppl on this site NOT to weigh every day (I weigh once a week), NOT to obsess on the numbers and to stick to the program! High protein, no carbs, lots of water & exercise. Your fears are normal - and there's lots of people here who can help you see that you WON'T be the worlds only exception!! We'll get thru this together hun!

Paula,
I'd cut out the carbs...cut out the roll up, the crackers, etc. You don't need them.
Are you getting any exercise to get your heart rate up? You must do some brisk walking to get it up in order to tell your body that it needs to work off what you're eating.
Try just walking for ten minutes briskly and I bet you see some results.
And...try to eliminate those carbs...I can't have any type of carbs until another 5 weeks...
Is your carnation sugar free?
Paula
I dont do the carb diet, I do stay away from breads and pasta.and real serious carbs. I do the low fat low calories. I stay at 600 a day.
That works great for me. the low carb diet did me wrong when i was on adkins and lost 50 pounds to gain back 80. I like the low calorie. It works great for me.

Paula,
I was very discouraged at 3-4 weeks also. I went through an almost 2 week stall. It happens! Your body is still trying to figure out what the heck happened and if it is going to starve to death! It is holding on to every bit of fat and flab it can.
I posted several times asking for help, I thought I was doing something wrong and I got some great advice from others who were once where I was. Trust me, the scale will move again! I'll bet, if you measure, you are loosing inches, just not pounds.
I am no expert, I am just a little over 5 weeks out, but do know exactly what you are feeling. Remember, this is NOT a DIET! It is a whole new way of life. The hardest part is getting our minds not to keep reminding us of all our diet failures. It will happen! Just follow your Dr's advice.
~Hugs to you!~

I had my surgery on Sept 14th,,and did the same thing at week 3,,but the inches were coming off instead of the pounds. I could not believe the difference in my clothes.
I upped my water and protein and the scale started moving again, but like you I was afraid I would be one of the failures,,,its that old diet mentality.
A friend of mine who had the surgery lst October 4th last year,,and has lost 305 pounds so far, said when he hits a stall,,he ups his protein shakes and his water. He said it works every time.
Hope it helps ya.
Hang in there,,its gonna happen!!!!
