I swear, I feel like this is going so slow. 28 pounds today. 5 1/2 weeks.blah.. I am happy but this seems to be slow. I puke so much you would think I would have lost a lot more than this. I chase kids daily ( I run a day care) swim 3 nights a week, Drink soso. Protein 60 - 100. What else do I need to do? Drink more I am sure. Suggestions please, And yes I could not have lost this much with out WLS. Thanks

Don't get down on yourself for loosing slow. I am almost at 5 weeks (9/7/05) and I have only lost 33. I was complaining and feeling down about the slow lose, but loosing slowly is better for your skin. Maybe we won't have to face the Plastic Surgeon! Keep up the good work, it will come off! ~Em

Dear Right Choice: I know exactly how you feel. I also had surgery on 9/1 and I have lost a total of 24 pounds. I have been so depressed, but the support system on this site is so encouraging, and so helpful that I feel a lot better. They explained how losing slower usually means less excess skin, also that most people go through a stall period where they just don't lose for a while, but then picks up again. So, please continue to read all the message boards for support and you will find that you are not alone. We just have to have patience. Pre surg 235,Surgery day 228, Today 204 Good Luck VA Girl

That's not slow! You're losing about an average of 3/4's of a lb a day - that's fantastic! You're doing very well. You need to realize that your body is making a lot of adjustments, and you've just come through a period of healing & probably a short stall at around 3 weeks. Also - when you see someone who has lost 60lbs or 90lbs in a month or so, they probably started off weighing nearly twice what you do, so of course they are going to lose "faster" - but they really aren't. They are losing about the same PERCENTAGE of weight as the rest of us. It just racks up bigger numbers. Don't get discouraged - it's really happening a lot faster than it seems. --BT

Hey Em -- I'd take your 33 lbs in a heartbeat! I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm only down 27 (had surgery the day after you!)... Scale stayed stuck for over a week...so frustrating. Hated having those feelings of "oh no... not working for me!" Hang in there everybody! Shellie
