Hi All--- My doc told me to eat between 800-900cals per day? But if I wanted to eat less, that is fine. I am between 500-600 cals per day? I have only lost 21lbs, and am almost a month out(next friday)--my doc says I should lose 25-30lbs the first month, so I am hoping this week, some of the weight will come off again. I went a whole week without losing, which sucks!! But today lost another lb, so hopefully it will start again for a few days at least. So how many cals are you all eating right now?? Thanks, leslie

About the same as you. I am told that the scale will stop about 1 month out as your body is adjusting to rapid loss, so don't panic...it's not like you're overeating and will regain. Maybe you can try to increase your water or fluid intake to get things moving again? Good luck! I'm 1 month out on Wednesday (time went by so fast!!) and I'm down 26. I'm hoping to break 300 by my 1 month appointment on the 20th.

Between 600-750, but try for less than 600. See the previous post about stalled weight loss. You are doing GREAT! Denise

About 600 also. I lost 22, in two weeks and seems to have slowed down. Kinda discouraging, and I have read the stall ones many times. Seems like every diet I go on i'll lose about 20-25 pounds then it'll stop. So right now I'm still not convienced it's working for me.

As much as I don't want to say I am glad someone else feels the way I do, I do feel better that you do. I read posts from so many people who said that they thought it wouldnt' work for them, and before surgery, i swore that I wouldn't be one of those people, of course the surgery works, if you follow directions, right? Well, that's all well and good, but the mind plays tricks on you, and when the weight doesn't come off as quick as others, its hard to not think that way. But all I can do, is keep doing what I am supposed to do, and have some faith that it will work. Anyways, thanks for the replies, I appreciate it!! Leslie

Exactely. We have to keep doing what the our plans call for. On my 2wk appointment with my surgeron, he said be patient, you had a huge weight lose the first week, i'll happen, just stick to the plan and follow the rules and you'll have sucess. And to stop compairing myself to others, because they are not me, and I'm not them.

I probably eat about 600 a day. My doctor didn't tell me to eat a certain amount of callories a day. I'm suposed to eat 3 meals (which consist of 1/4 cup protien and 1/4 cup of something else, like soup, mashed potatoes, pudding) etc. a day and 2 8oz glasses of milk (which I put my protien powder in) a day plus the 64oz of water a day. I have suger free popcycle sometimes. I am on this for 4 weeks. Then I go the Phase 3 of the diet, which is soft foods, not purreed. Carol

Hi Denise, I see you had the surgery the same day I did. How is everything going for you. Are you still on purreed foods? I can't wait to get off them. Do you have problems with any food. How much have you lost so far? I have lost 24 pounds. I guess that is good. I go back to the doctor on the 19th and then I go to phase 3. soft food. I'm not real sure what that consists of but it has to be better than purreed. Carol

Oh on a big day I'm probably getting around 650-700 calories. On other days, I'm getting 500-600 calories. Are you all counting your protien powder in your caloric intake? I've noticed that some of them are quite high. The average seems to be around 120 calories a serving, and you need 3 servings a day, so that's 380 calories a day right there. Although my newest protien powder is unflavored and is 80 calories a serving. So that's a significant savings for more flavorful and good to eat foods, like tuna! Even pureed, tuna is good.
