I had surgery sept 22. I have been at 208.8 for the past week. I *think* my TOM is coming, but not sure since nothing yet. this could be the culprit...or not. has anyone else stalled this early out? I thought I heard that people have, but cant find the post anywhere. I just sooo want to get under the dreaded 2 mark.... thanks for any info Kellee

Oh, yes, stalls are totally the norm. From what I have read, most of us lose a lot of weight very quickly the first week or so, and then your body has to stop and allow itself catch up. You should be noticing the inches really fall off now. I stalled for almost 2 weeks, and the scale is just NOW finally moving again. However, I am wearing clothes I haven't worn in years. My TOM is within the next week, too. Glad you found us!

Hi Kellee! Yes, my scale only moved a 1/2 pound this past week (I am 4 weeks post). But I went clothes shopping yesterday and bought 18's (was in 24s), and actually fit into a size 14-16 jacket, boy was I surprised! My husband only gives me the scale once a week, and that has really helped my obsession. Plus, last night, I had a WOW moment - I finally realized that this is really going to happen! That I am not going to fail AGAIN, like all the other times. This is so much more important than the numbers on the scale. It was liberating. Keep up the good work, we are here for you! wow good for you...I can't wait to go shopping and have that happen.. okay I have a question for you... I am 4 weeks out (9/9/05) and I'm not losing. I am drinking protein shakes 2x/day and I am drinking as much as I possibly can. I eat minimal amounts and I don't understand... can you tell me what you're doing that you're losing so quickly and wonderfully? this is basically starting to depress me and I know that's not a good thing thanx!! Linda, DO NOT get discouraged! I don't know if you read my profile, but I had to lose 10% before surgery! So, my post op weight loss is 19.5 pounds, which is average. Keep a food journal, log all your calories, and you will see that you are on the right track. We all worry that we will be the ONE person that this surgery does not work for. But us LWs will lose about 2-4 pounds per week, on average, according to some of the veterans. Be patient! We are all in the same boat, you are not alone! Denise
