Back to work?
My surgery was 9/20 and I plan to take the full six weeks ... going back on November 1. Promised myself, even if I felt like working I would not...because I'm an overachiever at work and typically put in 10 hours ...so I want to be really recovered before I fall back into that..
Plus I want to be off the soft food diet.

I had my lap RNY on September 21st and I went back to work this past Thursday, October 6th. I am a teacher and am able to sit at my desk if needed. It was hard going back. I have to take the elevator because taking the staiurs to my 3rd floor classroom is too much. It was hard, but I am happy to be back. I am sure it will take a few days to get back into the swing of things.
My RNY was Sept. 28th and I don't plan on going back to wor****il Oct. 31st, IF I feel like I have enough stamina. Although I'm walking 30-45 minutes a day already, it seems that one day I'll feel pretty good and the next day feel totally drained - and even queasy.
Today I went to my first Phoenix support meeting (the one Trisha leads), and since I was feeling so ****y , went next door to Dillards at Metro Center and shopped for a while. Now I'm paying the price . Shoulda just come home.
I think if you're lucky enough, you should play it by ear and go back to work when you feel up to it (even begin with half days), but obviously, some people cannot do that.

I took 2 1/2 weeks off, I had my surgery 9/14 and went back to work 10/3. Honestly, I could have gone back to work in a week. I had no complications, and no problems with liquids/getting protein in. It was nice to have the time off, by the 2nd week though, I was spending WAY too much money with my time off!! LOL!!
