I eat about an ounce or 2 at a time.I am not very hungry.I hate the feelimg of a full pouch.I like to eat about an eigth of a cup of lipton dry noodle soup and 3 saltines.I drink instant breakfast no sugar added each day.I'll also eat 3 saltines with the cheese in the can squeezed on them. The nutrionalist said to suck on cracker until it is soft.I do need to get in more protein and drink more water.

You should be happy you can eat something.....My surgery was Sept 20, and I started on a pureed diet after leaving the hospital. All was well until a week ago, when I started throwing up when ever I eating anything other than protein shakes and water. Meds/ vitamins are very difficult to keep down. Doc tells me to stay on LIQUIDS ONLY for another week. Ugh! But, I have lost 32 lbs. I just want to chew something!!! Jen

Hi, I am almost 2 weeks post op (9/26/05) and getting bored with the Kaiser stage 2. I am able to keep everything down but need some variety. Right now it's cream soups strained, ff puddings, lots of cream of wheat!!!! I am looking forward to advancing to stage 3 on Tuesday, when I see Dr. Baggs. You sound like your doing great to me. Keep up the great work, it will all work it self out.

I;m still on liquids plus scrambled egg (eggbeaters), toast (I was eating low carb bread, but am gonna cut it out of my diet to see if I'll lose faster), and cottage cheese so I basically eat nothing all day. Breakfast is low carb yogurt 4 ozs, then a 4oz shake between then and lunch, lunch is cottage cheese 4oz, then another shake inbetween then and dinner, and then dinner is usually a scrambled egg 2ozs and 1oz of cottage cheese. Pretty boring. I bought some canned chicken and canned tuna, ff refried beans (which I may not eat now since I'm gonna try low carb), and mozerella cheese for my appt next week when I should get advanced to pureeds. There is NO WAY I will be able to make myself eat pureed veggies or worse, pureed meats....icky...so I only bought the soft kinds.

Hi Barb. Where in Ohio do you live? I'm in Akron, but had my wls in Dayton. I am 2.5 weeks out, and I get hungry too. Actually, I started to feel hunger at about 1 week out. Kinda scared me a little, you know? I have nightmares that I am eating tons of food! lol In my dream I think, "Oh my gosh! I'm gonna make my wls fail!" Then I wake up and I breathe a sigh of relief. =) I have been eating whatever I want. I didn't have to do any special diets post-op... Just chew really well. (I had DS) I have a bigger tummy than you, if you are RnY, so the amounts will be different. (For instance, one meal I ate nearly 1/2 of a jr. whopper) I don't know when to stop. I eat until I feel very full. Maybe that's eating too much? I need to eat slower, I know that. I also haven't been recording anything that I eat/drink. I've been meaning to start... =( I just wanted to say that you are doing very well it seems! Keep it up and your weight will keep lowering. Amanda
