Depressed
Hi Kym, I just read your response and I am so glad I am not the only one who had not lost a lot. I weighed 304 when I went into surgery on 9/19. I lost only 14 pounds the first two weeks and nothing so far on the third. When a friend of mine who had the surgery last week who only weighed 256 lost 14 pounds in one week I became so depressed. I thought at first that if I had this surgery to loose only 14 pounds I would just die. But reading your response I felt a bit better. Besides I should be happy because since last October I have now lost a total of 56 pounds.
Stop being down--you have to remember that you started out as a "LIGHT WEIGHT"
You have a lot less to lose than many WLS patients on these boards--and you must eat enough fo the matabolism to continue to work. If it goes into starvation mode, your body will hold onto the weight with a vengence! Don't go overboard --but increase your intake--and don't skimp on the proteins--or you will lose weight and your HAIR too!
So stop dtressing yourself--the surgery works! for some it is slower than others--I have Hashimotos" disease( and my thyroid doesn't work at all ).
I am losing --never thought that I could--but this surgery WORKS!
Be Blessed!
