Still having pain in the vicinity of my pouch. Having no other problems. Went to doctor yesterday and they told me it was common for the pouch area to hurt for a couple months. This is like a dull pain all the time. I have to sleep inclined because it hurts to stretch out. I am a little over 3 weeks out and down 32 pounds. Eating and drinking ok. Thanks, Mike S.

I am three weeks out. I have the same pain. I did have open surgery. I was concerned that i had a hernia. I am glad.( I hate to say that.) I am not alone. Now I know I am okay. Take Care Barb

My doc told me to expect some pain on the left side of the abdomen because that's where most of the rearranging happened and it takes quite a few months to heal (which is why we are not allowed to do abdominal exercises for some months). If your doc says it's ok, then I would imagine that it probably is Beth

Mike... Seems to be par for teh course. As stated before the left side is where the most rearangeing went on, and teh LARGEST instrament was inserted (if you had Lap). Just yesterday I cought myself sleeping on my tummy so I can only assume it should get better for you too... Best wishs.. GREAT loss so far!!!! Erin 276/246/160

I had lap RNY and I still have aches in the incision that is directly above my belly-button. It actually gets worse the more tired I am, but my pain meds take care of it quite nicely. I can sleep on my tummy with no problems. Shannon Lap RNY 9/14/05 275/244/140
