Anyone taking Actigall?

Hi, Had my surgery this past Monday, came home on Wednesday. Feeling pretty good, except it is hard getting all the fluids down. I haven't found the "right" protein drink that I can tolerate yet. My question is....Is anyone taking that horrible Actigall medicine? It is the one for your gallbladder? I have to open up these big capsules and tried mixing it with some grape juice (made w/Splenda) I mix just enough juice to make it one ounce. Every time I drink it, I throw it right back up. Any suggestions? Thanks, Daphne

I would try it with just alittle water. and swallow it then follow up with another drink of water. That is how I do most of my pills. I dont like to mess my meals up with the taste. I just do it and get it over. Take care Barb

I have had luck mixing mine with apple sauce. I tried it with my protein powder (yuck) pudding (yuck) and cream of wheat (double yuck!). I am getting tired of the applesauce but it does go down really well with little after taste. Hope this helps Krista

Isn't it funny how different surgeon's are? Mine doesn't have me starting my gallbladder meds until 4 weeks post-op.

I will be on Actigall starting Wednesday. My surgeon doesn't have you start it until 2 weeks post-op, but what they suggested (like someone else said), was to mix it with apple sauce. I've heard it's pretty horrible though... Amy

Hi All, Hoping everyone out there is doing well.....I found a way to get the Actigall down. I used a few teaspoons of Yoplait Light Blueberry yogurt, emptied the capsule into it and mixed it up. I can't taste it, although it does have a slight gritty texture to it. Daphne

I mix mine in a little carb control yougurt and it covers the taste really well - some aftertaste, but that just makes me drink water!
