Anybody got this problem??? 2 weeks out....
I wound up being impacted a week after my surgery, and it was the worst thing in the world. I was able to take care of the problem myself (I won't disgust you with the details), but when I couldn't go again after 4 days I panicked! I called my surgeon and they told me to take milk of magnesia. Yuck, but anything was better than another impaction. I took it on Friday and had diarrhea that evening but not a lot. I took it again on Saturday and the rest rushed right now. Now, I have diarrhea everyday, but that is because every food I eat causes me to dump.
I don't know if that helps or not, but that is my experience. Good luck!

O.k. guys, I came up with something that is somewhat tolerable. I crush all my pills, then I boil a tiny amount of water (just alittle above the powder line) and mix until the powder dissolves. Then I added sugar free chocolate pudding and mix (it looks gross at first but starts to look like a mousse). The taste is still yucky, but the smoother consistency makes it more tolerable. That is what I have to do right now to get the meds down. Hope it works for any of you. Hugs, Dawn
I've figured to use my tummy's new properties to my advantage. I've only had dumping syndrome once and that was not a happy experience. I tried this 'Doctor's CarbRite Diet cookie dough' bar. Sugar free bar for carb conscious dieters. Now remembering we all react differently to different things, I enjoyed half the bar (my dog stole the other half) and it gave me a little bit of an upset tummy. And then the runs an hour or so later. Nothing like the dumping that had me never wanting to eat again (lol, at least for the 15 minutes it lasted). Cleaned me right out, and I got a tasty treat. If you were to consider this approach, go slow to find one that just gently causes the desired results.
