I feel like a shower drain!!
I've been home for 3 days, still on a liquid diet and still in pain...
when i drink anything I feel it going down and it makes that gurgling sound like water going down a drain, Its making it really hard to get my liquids in.
Also, my breathing has gotten worst since I got home. i hardly do anything on that breathing machine thingy,,, and I get a nasty pain on the side when I breathe..
plus diahera for the past two days,,,
anyone else had this similar problems????
Hi Maria,
Sorry you're feeling so yucky. I don't have too much of a problem drinking my fluids NOW, I did though. Made me feel sick. I'm like you though concerning the breathing machine. It really hurt to breath in deeply, due to gas. It's important to walk, hon. I know it hurts! The days will pass and it will slooowly get better, honest. Diarrea is common I think. I have it too. Just relax and take it easy but make sure to drink your water and walk as much as possible.
Feel Better,
Kelly
I still have the diahera,
But I do not have the breathing problems. I had open surgery and I do breathing treatments from my machine I have at home. The same treatments they give you in the hospital. You might be getting congested, You need to be careful Of pneumonia and blood clots. I would get into see you doctor about this. Do you have a cpap machine. You should wear that to get some oxgen if you do. It seems like your oxgen is low.
Take Care and get it checked.

Maria,
I had a similar pain when i would breath deep wehn I came home from the hospital, mine turned out to be a combination of the gas they pump into you while doing surgery to space out your organs giving them enough room to work. Sometimes some of the gas/air gets stuck under your diaphram. THe other thing that contributed to my deep breath pain was my JP drainage tube. The begining of the tube started right under my diaphram and when I took a deep breath would agitate it. I know it's not fun but the spirometer (breathing thing) is really good for you and if at all possible you should use it.
Good luck, and my best advice is talk to your surgeron. Thats what he gets paid the big bucks for!
Hope this helps
Krista
