hi all, new to this board
i'm 8 days out, officially tired of being on liquids & tired of being a 'patient'! My hubby is soooo supportive but sheeeesh.....! A couple nights ago I was dyin just to TASTE somethin, so I had my mom get Chinese food, I got egg drop soup & strained it. Was soooo good!! Probly not on the 'approved' list but it was worth it!!
Tonight is the first time I really feel hungry (maybe head hunger, or just BORED BORED BORED!). I wanna stuff my face!!! I know I used food to comfort and nurture myself, so I gotta come up with some new ways to do that, and QUICK!!! I know this isnt supposed to be easy, the surgery is just a tool... and I just had a $30,000 operation & dont want to f**k it up!!! But its hard to go from living one way for 40 yrs to stopping overnight!!! I gotta believe it will be worth it... with the help of family & friends & people on this site. Thanks for letting me vent!
Hugs, Melanie
Hi Melanie,
I'm two weeks out yesterday and I've lost 29 lbs so far. It's worth it!!!! But I can TOTALLY identify with everything you said. I'm missing my "drug of choice"!!! And it is REALLY HARD!!!! I do alot of praying and seeking help from my amos family. You will be on pureed foods soon and that will help alot!! We need to help each other!! Hugs, Dawn
Thanks guys, I'm sooo glad I have this board to vent to! Doing better today, went to my follow up w/the surgeon & everythings going well, got my drain out (which was a HUGE hassle!), & now can start on pureed food.. had a protein smoothie for breakfast & yogurt for lunch -yeaaaa! Doin better already! I also had some s/f choc pudding last nite - that reeeally took away the cravings! Enjoyed it soooo much! So maybe there are some things we can give ourselves, while we're learning to nurture ourselves in other ways.
Thanks for the support! Mell
