Sept. 20th / POST-OP LOSER

Greetings All, THANK YOU for your love, prayers, and support!!! It's Sat. Sept. 24th ... I'm still recovering. I came home Friday afternoon, and I'm sleeping a lot today. Don't let anyone fool you. It's not a piece of cake. But Dr. Drinkwater was impressed with my eating and walking while I was in the hospital. He says I'm making wonderful progress, but do NOT over-do it !!! You need support at home who can take care of things and LET YOU SLEEP when the phone rings and do the dishes, feed the cats, feed themselves, not argue over what to watch on TV, and let the dogs out !!! I usually stay awake for 2 - 3 hours and need to go back to bed because I'm so tired. I took a walk outside, in my nightgown, around my house today, in the sunshine. It felt nice ( and it prevents blood clots ). My husband and kids were good enough to tape All My Children Mon - Fri. so I watched a few episodes last night, and the last three today. My daughter is outside mowing the lawn right now, while I'm awake I can't believe I've already been through the operation. It's still very surreal for me. Love, Kym from NH

I wish I was doing as well as you are. It'****ting me mentally right now. I've been home since thursday and going stir crazy. I walk, but since I'm still on liquids, I have NO energy. I feel like I'm a burden on my family. I want these stupid tubes out of me. I'm sorry, just not feeling well right now.

hello Kym I also had the surgery on the 20th..got home from hosp thurs..and I am doing pretty good..but i have a sharp pain in the left side..it really hurts when u have to get out of bed..having trouble sleeping at night I like to sleep on my side and right now its otta the question.. I have been taking some walks also,,I guess the only real trouble is when to drink all tha****er..not before u eat and not for a hour and a half aftr..its confusing..I went to sippi cups tho kept taking too many bigger gulps..and my pouch let me know it also. I see my surgeon this Friday so I am anxious to see what he has to say..I am still really tired and still taking my pain medication. take care and hope to hear from ya soon, Jean

i got to thinkin bout that no water 30 min. before meals thing... doesnt it make sense that thats before you eat FOOD?? when your on liquid its all the same! i'm no Dr. but I was makin myself crazy tryin to measure it all out...
