:-l Feeling bad
My surgery was 9/14. I've had some good days and some so-so days, but today was not good. I suddenly do not have any energy, feel very cold, and just plain don't feel good. I have 2 drains still in. Both are reddened around the site but no drainage. My temperature is only 99, but that's higher than usual. I "ate" a bit more than usual yesterday and today, and do feel a little "full". I thought I was doing so well. Is this a normal thing? I will go to bed early tonight and hope for a better tomorow. Any advice? Thanks........D
I had my surgery on same date w/ Dr. Overcash in Ocala, and felt that way the 3rd day-5th day after surgery...my temp went as high as 100.9. he told me not to worry unless my temp went over 102.5. I also was not getting in enough protein. I started drinking the protein shakes at every meal vs. eating the other options and have had alot more energy, no temp and felling 100% better. I agree with calling your surgeon 1st to see what she recommends, but make sure you are getting in that protein because that helps you heal. Also be sure to walk in the morning..that will increase your energy for the day.
Best of luck and Keep in touch!
Hey Donna, Im right there with ya,,,had mine on the 14th as well,,and yesterday and today felt bad. So tired and weak,,and cold. Been getting my protein in, thanks to the shakes,,but still feeling badly. No temp tho,,,maybe this is normal???? The first few days home I felt great,,this has kinda got me down.
Hope we feel better soon!! Hang in there!
Hi there
im almost a year out and as for the feeling cold.......its gonna be a chilly winter for you so get used it it sawwry but its just the way its gonna be totally normal. For the past year ive had colder hands than a corpse It will get better ...later...As for the no energy sawwry to report but its par for the course for now. I was napping twice a day and a 15 minute jaunt shopping left me tired and cranky. Rmeber we get our energy from the calories we take in...going from 2000 to 5000 calories a day to ...what 500 in the first month if your lucky leaves you with a deficit right form the get go considering you burn 1000 plus doing NOTHING AT ALL. Just remeber the basics protien first and try and sip sip sip water ALL DAY if you can to keep hydrated and to keep the dizzies at bay....OHHHH the dizzies they are coming...not to worry either most go through dizzies.
Anyways know this it will get better ...you will get stronger......you wont freeze and if you do you will eventually thaw ....and in a year you will be where i am checkin on new post ops and smiling as you remeber
kindest regards
