A Bit of Friendly Advice
Hi Everyone, especially those who have just had their operations, or those whose operation dates are near.
Here is just a little friendly advice. I had my RNY on Sept. 19, and came home from hospital on 21st. Yesterday I started on the not-so-clear liquid diet. It was going just fine, kept down the Cream of Wheat in the morning, so decided to do a protein drink. I made up 8oz with skim milk and sat down to drink it. It was so yummy, and had the consistency of water, so I was lulled into a false sense of security and drank way to much, way to fast! Boy, did I pay for it BIG TIME!!
Take my advice, don't do what I did, you will regret it. Just take it slowly, and you should be fine.
Good luck to all of you.
Regards,
Marion S
Hi Marion,
I wanted to thank you for being a good I am going to have my surgery on Sept. 28th. I am looking at as many messages as possible so that I don't make too many mistakes.
By the way, I am Marian S.C.,-- that was one of the reasons that your message caught my eye.
I was told by my nutritionist that I would not be allowed anything solid for at least a week , and that I would have to take the protein drinks in small sips.
I guess that there are variations that each bariatric team prefers--I am at Long Island Jewish and they are very strict and very conservative.
I am glad for the that you are sharing with everyone . I hope that I remember all this good advise after my surgery!
Hey Since we have the same name --maybe we could e-mail or I.M. each other on an on-going basis--We could compare notes on our progress.
Thanks for sharing,
and be blessed!
