3 weeks post opt.. Feeling pretty good.. Just tired :bed:
I spent the first day home doing nothing but sleeping. I would wake up, pop a pain pill, change the DVD and go back to sleep. I slept like that for a little over 24 hours. Hospitals are not a good place for sleeping and so I needed to catch up. Also, there is that whole thing with your body feeding your energy into healing..so you will need more sleep.
Kathy, I am just 2 weeks post op from lap RNY. I have not been in the bed in the daytime since I was in the hospital. don't get me wrong I would have loved to came home curled up with a good movie and some pain pills and slept for a good day and night. I have 3 small kids , one being just 10 months. So I was busy from the time I walked in my door at home. I was afraid to sit still too long because I did not want to develop any blood clots. I think it is good that I have things to keep me busy and keep me moving. The more you lay around the more tired you will be. I promise if you go out for a nice long walk you will feel better. I hate doing it and I have to make myself but in the end I am always glad I did it. PLus the more you more the quicker the soreness will go away if it hasn't already. All my soreness was gone when I left the hospital because all I did was walk, walk, walk. I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.
