Tomorrow is my surgery and I am extremely nervous and excited all at the same time. I cannot believe this day is finally here. It seems that most of my nervousness is not knowing what to expect after the surgery, pain-wise. I have had a tubal ligation before, but other than that no prior surgeries. Does anyone know how the pain from these two compare? I was in quite a bit of pain after my tubal, but I recovered really fast (4 days), so I am really hoping that this is the same. Joni

Joni, I know exactly how you're feeling ....because you spoke my words. My surgery is also tomorrow ...have to be there at 6am EST. OMG....and I too have only had one surgery ...30 years ago so I have no confidence of what my pain tolerance will be. But ... I am determined to force myself to walk ....so plan to grit my teeth and bear it. May God be with you, me and our surgeons tomorrow. Jody

Joni, I had laparoscopic rny on 9/7. After the first few hours, I really didn't have any pain to amount to much. Except when they pulled out the catheter (OUCH). I went home on 9/9 and other than taking 2 doses of the liquid lortab on fri and sat night to help me sleep. I have not taken any pain meds. I had my staples taken out last thursday and am back at work today. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rob 330/304/200
