My nurse told me to bring a robe, slippers, and your personal toiletries. Don't forget Chap Stick and lotion ( You'll be wearing your hospital gown, so no fancy PJ's are needed!!!) It's almost time, Sista ! hugs, Kym ( 09.20.05 )

Hey Kym, Thanks for the packing advice - I'm on 9/20 too so I'll say a prayer for us both! Good luck and may surgery be easy, uncomplicated and pain free! Lisa D

If you are staying one night the fewer things you bring the better. My hospital provided gowns & slipper socks, you'll have an IV until you leave so getting a robe on is just about impossible. I brought chapstick but didn't use it because they provided mouth swabs that helped the dry mouth/throat until you could have liquids. I wore a big soft cotton dress there - folded it when I changed into the johnny and then wore it home the next day. Really all I had to bring was my cell phone & some reading material. Good luck, Lynn Banded 9/12/05 299.5/275/140
