vena cava filter comments

i just posted this on the main board but i thought i should put it here too. i went today for my filter & boy was i nervous. i had to b @ baptist east by 10 am and was busy the whole time. dr.salem george jr. did mine and he is just awesome in my book. very sweet, caring, doesnt talk down to u, and knows his job very well!! u just cant ask for more. so i got there , got signed in, nurse called right afterwards. after doing the medical history stuff i was directly taken to a room where i had to change into the lovely gown, booties, & matching cap. just my color--blue!! then every person on the floor i think was in my room!! ok & just for ur info---they prep u down there so expect that ok. i blushed alittle but recovered soon enough. got the iv(ok that hurt), got some happy meds but not enough to make me sleep. just enough to chill me out. dr.george even comes to check on me-- how sweet!!! then off to the surgery room we go! man its cold in there but those heated blankets r so nice. so i scoot to the main table, get situated, and here comes the doctor. i promise the only thing i felt was his thumb pushing in my groin. but he even warned me of that so that was cool. i was expecting him to tell me when the numbing meds were coming & when he started but heck he didnt have time. lol , bout 5 mins later it seemed he said '' all finished!'' i was shocked. he is just so awesome. so here i am scooting back to the other bed and recovery here i come. i was there for bout 1 1/2 hours but i cant complain.. they feed me and gave me a coke (give me a coke and im a friend 4 life..rofl)i take a little stroll down the hall to make sure im cool, check to see if im bleeding from the site, and home i go. now u will have to have someone else drive u home, and u have to promise to relax the rest of the day. but hey, i could use some veggin out time. i even got home b4 the kids did!! took a nap and now im ready to tackle wal-mart. but alas, i promised... so ill b there tomorrow. liquid diet starts on monday bowel prep starts tuesday 8 days & a wake up til my rny--yippee
