Nerves For Tomorrow

I have awakened every night this week at 3:30 am and can't get back to sleep. I am so tired! I am pooping way more than normal. Right now I have a football size lump in my chest and I feel all shaky. Is this normal? How can you tell if it is normal nerves and when it is an inner voice saying "don't do it?" I am a revision, so I did this before in 87, I don't remember being this anxious, but I didn't have a child then... Are any other Twelves feeling this way?

YES!!!!!!!!! I thought that I was alone. I have a one year old baby and the nerves are killing me. I am alwaus optimistic about everything but somewhere in the back of your head you cant help but think what if .... I am so nervous. My hands are shaking. I have tried to pack but I stop because I get the shakes. I know everything will be alright and I fully trust my doctor. but i am still anxious. don't worry everything will be ok. My prayers will be with you and I hope for a fast recovery. Let me know afterwards how you are doing

Michelle, thanks for sharing your feelings. If we are sharing the same feelings, it is probably nerves instead of a warning voice, right? I am usually an optimistic person too, it makes my hubsand crazy, so this sudden freak out is probably catching us off guard. We probably did not expect it. If you are like me, you are not a big stress person because you always expect everything to be okay! So we are not used to this. Maybe those people who are always expecting the worse don't even notice the lump and the shakes cause they usually have them. It makes me feel better to know I am not the only shaky preson today. Let's spend the day playing and hanging with our kids and spoiling them, and then in a few days we will be home yelling at them to not be so loud! I will remember you in my prayers also, and let's check in with each other after surgery to compare war stories! Wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery! Darlene

Hi Db S! I wish you a lot of luck for tomorrow and my thoughts and prayers are with you! It is normal to be nervous and just think when you go in for your surgery, you will be sleeping through this whole ordeal! I am having my surgery next month on the 12th and I had an premonition this morning that my surgery is going to be great! I know that yours will be great as well!

Hi, I just did a post and then saw yours below mine. Everything is going to be O.K. Just stay focused on all the good things. This is going to be the best thing you can do for yourself and for your child. Hugs and good wishes, Marty

You are very normal!! I just had my surgery 9/8/05. I just came home Sat. 9/10/05. I was a basket case all last week and was posting constantly. Well, being up all night does have the advantage of wearing you out. When I went in for surgery I had taken a xanax and the anesthesiologist still injected something in the I.V. to calm me down which it sort of did, but I was still awake when I went into the O.R. Anyway, I was really tired afterward and that's when you really need to rest. So, my advice is tell your Dr. that you're nervous and they'll probably give you something and just relax afterward - 'cause everything will be fine!! Take care and my prayers are with you. Mary W.

Db S I also had a revision done. My first surgery was in 1979. My recent WLS was in Dec. 04 I've lost 100lbs. You did the right thing! I say did, because I read your post the day of you WLS. Best of Luck. Carole
