Hello all- My name is Marsha, I am 28 and I am scheduled for surgery on 9-14. I am having my "last meal" tonight before the pre-op liquid diet starts tomorrow. I am a little nervous but more curious about what I will be allowed to "drink" after the surgery. I have read Susan Maria Leach's book and it was very helpfull, are there any other's out there?

A lot of people suggested Crystal Lite to me. They say water tastes awful, so you need something with a little flavor to it. And welcome to the boards

Hey there, for me right now, water is my enemy... I'm 5 days post op now and finally able to sip a little here and there, Crystal light goes down very well, so do sugar free ice pops... another idea, if you have (or can acquire) a snow cone machine, chopping ice and making your own slushy with sf flavoring... believe me, the cold feels wonderful post op!!! I'm already on to baby food and puree, and doing fine with it... once that happens, the biggest concern is getting the protein in and drinking enough... it's kinda difficult to do, and baby sips, not gulps... I took what would normally be a swallow and felt like I would die for about an hour... I haven't repeated that mistake since!!! HUGS Hope I helped some Rachel PS Have heard that sf iced teas go down too.
