New to the boards. Surgery 9-12-05

Hiya! My name is Beth and I am 30 yrs old and have a LAP-RNY on the 12th. I have been married to my military husband for almost 10 yrs and have 3 great children ages 9, 7, and 5. Just wanted to intoduce myself and say hello to you all. Good luck to everyone and I hope to get to know at least some of you in the next couple of months ;) Beth

Hi Beth, Good luck on your surgery. I am also new to the surgery board. I am feeling all kinds of emotions, but mostly I just can't wait to start feeling better! I will keep you in my prayers. How did you explain to the children what you are having done?

Hiya and thanks for responding! I have explained to my little ones a bit about the surgery, minimally though. I have told them that I am having surgery on my stomach so that I will become healthier. I haven't mentioned weight at all and they seem to understand pretty well. But are nervous for me.

Hi Beth, I am new to the board too....as of today actually and my surgery is scheduled on the 14th. I am 28 and looking forward to getting to know some of the people on this site as well. I hope that your surgery goes well and good luck!

Im going in for surgery on Monday also!! I also have 3 little ones (home grown) and 4 others as well. I am 29 and scared out of my mind for this surgery but know that I need to do this so that I can be an active parent. I wish you well. Jenny
