My surgery date 9/29/05,any one with advice?

I'm very scared of surgery, my date is 9/29/05 on thursday. I am married with 3 chilldren, i am 31 years old. I fell so alone in this adventure I'm about to go through!anybody else? Terri S

Hi Terri. My surgery date is also 29th September 2005 and I too am nervous but I have come to terms with the fact that if I don't have this operation, then I am eating myself to death and that this is the only option I have. In a strange way I am looking forward to having the surgery because I'm hoping that from that date my new life will begin. Best of luck with your op. You will be ok. Thinking of you. Linda

Hi Terri, We have alot in common, I am also 31 with 3 children (not including the husband--haha) and I am scheduled for the 19th. You are not alone although it does sometimes feel that way. We are here to help. We are all scared of the unknown, but there are so many here that have been through this procedure, so many success stories, so much to look forward to, that is what I try to focus on. I can really relate Terri. My husband is in the military so we don't live near our families. I am basically going through this with his support and not much else. It makes it pretty difficult. (((HUGS))) for you! Beth

I'm also scared... 30 years old with 2 small children. I am worried sick... but I'm also excited to be thin and healthy. I'm on the 27th. Keep in touch.

IF my insurance company decides to overturn my denial I will also be scheduled on 9/29/05. I am not getting my hopes up. I was supposed to have surgery next Thursday but the surgeon didn't submit to my insurance until last Thursday and yesterday I found out I was denied. Apparantly I was not obese for 5 consecutive years although I was for 6 out of 8 years. Go figure! Good Luck with your surgery! Jenn Y. still
