Well kids.....Wednesday is the big day. Thank you God. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have to work late tonight, but tomorrow I hit the grocery store. I already have my Nectar lemon tea which I love(hope I still do after surgery!). Any tips on other things to stock up on for the next few weeks other than the popcicles, broths??? I would appreciate prayers for a safe surgery. Thanks to all for your support. Michelle

Hi Michelle, All the best to you over the next week. My surgery is Friday so I know how excited you are!! You asked what to take to the hospital. Below are suggestions of others who have gone before us-I have been gathering them for a while ! Take care, walk and drink lots...see you on the other side!! XXXOOO Barb ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OH JUST A LITTLE HINT IF YOU HAVE TO DO A BOWEL PREP MAKE SURE YOU HAVE VASSOLINE OR PREP H OR A & D OINMENT AND PREPARE THE TUSHY AREA. I DIDN'T DO THAT AND THE DAY THAT I WENT IN FOR SURGERY MY TUSH WAS STILL SO SORE. THE NURSE IN THE PRE-OP ROOM SAID THAT SHE WISHED DR.'S WOULD TELL THEIR PATIENTS TO USE THE STUFF SO THEY ARE NOT SORE AFTER THE BOWEL PREP AND STILL FOR SURGERY. JUST MY 2 CENTS WORTH. DON'T PACK A BIG BAG YOU WON'T NEED IT. JUST THINGS LIKE SOMETHING COMFY TO COME HOME IN. CHAPSTICK, PERSONAL FAN IF YOU NEED ONE, BACK STRATCHER, SLIPON SLIPPERS, YOUR OWN PILLOW BOOKS IF YOU READ, DECK OF CARDS IF YOU HAVE TIME BETWEEN SLEEPING AND WALKING. TOOTHBRUSH AND PASTE DEODERANT. THERE GOWNS ARE VERY VERY ROOMY SO YOU REALLY DON'T NEED ONE FROM HOME. AS FOR HOME HAVE WATER, S/F JELLO S/F PUDDING S/F POPSICLES S/F FUDGESICLES,NATURAL JUICE, OJ DILUTED, CREAMED SOUP SPLIT PEA CONSITACNY, YOGURT, V8 TOMATO JUICE FOR POTASSIUM. ONE OF THE IDEAS THAT I FOUND VERY HELPFUL WAS TO BUY ICE CUBE TRAYS AND MIX UP YOUR SOUPS AND POUR IT INTO THE ICE TRAYS AND FREEZE IT THEN WHEN YOU NEED SOUP JUST POP OUT ONE OR TWO AND MICROWAVE. EACH CUBE IS AN OUNCE. OR LET THEM FREEZE AND POP THEM ALL OUT AND PUT IN A BAGGIE OR CONTAINER AND THAT WAY YOU CAN MAKE ANOTHER KIND OF SOUP AND SWICTH OFF SO YOU DON'T GET BORED WITH ONE SOUP. IT WORKED WONDERFULLY FOR ME. YOUR CHEWABLE CHILDRENS VITAMINS, CENTRUM IS GOOD. YOUR SUBLINGUAL B12 FOR UNDER THE TOUNGE, CHEWABLE CALCIUM. IRON IF YOU STILL HAVE YOU PRYAMID. AS WE CALL IT AROUND HERE. I GET MY SUBLINGUAL FROM BARIACTRIC ADVANDTAGE AND HAVE IT SET FOR AUTO DELIVERY SEEMS I WILL BE ON IT FOR LIFE. I ALSO FOUND PAPAYA ENZYMES TO BE A LIFE SAVER WHEN I EAT SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T AGREE WITH ME. YOU CHEW THEM UP AND IT HELPS TO BREAK UP THE FOOD AND HELPS YOU TO DIGEST IT. THEY ARE INEXPENSIVE ABOUT $3 A BOTTLE AND YOU CAN FIND THEM AT WALMART WITH THE OTHER VITAMINS. THEY HAVE A GRAT TASTE ALSO. FIND OUT WHICH PROTEIN YOU LIKE THE BEST ALSO. I LOVE UNJURY CHOCOLATE BLENDS WELL WITH FAT FREE MILK AND A SPOON. YOU CAN FIND IT AT .. WWW. UNJURY. COM I LOVE THE UJURY NUMMY NUMMY. MAKES GREAT POWER PUDDING ALSO. YOU CAN BUY SAMPLE PACKETS TO SEE IF YOU LIKE IT. THEY HAVE CHOCOLATE, VANILLA AND UNFLAVORED. THE UNFLAVORED GOES GREAT IN YOUR FOOD OR WITH YOUR SF KOOLAID OR CRYSTAL LITE. Another posting... The thing I used the most was the medicated lip balm. Also, I couldn't do the chicken broth, the smell bugged me, but I did use the broth from those cheap noodles, maurachan or nissan. They have several flavors. Hated to throw the noodles out, but no one wanted them and at 8cents I guess not a big deal. The warm broth and warm tea were a godsend the first week post op. I will keep your surgery in my prayers.
