I just wanted to post here and say hello to everyone. I know some of you have emailed me personally and I thank you for that. I may not have yet had the chance to get back to you Life if really busy right now. My surgery is scheduled for September 19. I am a little nervous but I am very much at peace with this decision. Does anyone have any suggestions about vitamins and what to have on hand to eat (drink) after surgery? I do know of some things but wanted to see what everyone else thought Thanks, Nalani

All the suggestions I've been given are to take it slow - start with broth, clear liquids, soup, things like that. As you pass each stage and are allowed more solid foods, don't eat too much of anything new right away. Try a bite, and see how it feels. Try it again the next day, and see if it still feels good. A lot of people have trouble with eggs & meat early on, so use caution with those. Your doctor should give you a post-op diet to follow as well. Oh, and I hear good things about Crystal Lite. Tastes change enormously, and even just plain water tastes horrid to many. They also find that they are MUCH more sensitive to smell (which I believe is because our bodies are detoxified.)
