Nervous Energy
I've done everything practical that I can think of. All but one of my pre-op tests is done. I'm waiting for my visa to arrive in the mail. I have nothing else to do....and that's a BAD thing. *laugh*
All of my laundry is done, except the clothes on my back, the sheets on my bed (they're next) and the kitchen towels. The dishes are done. The cat litter has been changed. The trash has been taken out. I've shopped for post-op food, binders, a few clothes. I have refills on all my prescriptions.
I have absolutely NO plans for tomorrow (the first day in a LONG time I can say that) and nothing to do. I'm not sure if I'll even get out of bed. I have no clue what to do.
But I probably will, and I'll probably find myself rearranging my bookshelves, and sorting stuff out of my pantry for the food banks to send to Biloxi (stuff from here can't get to New Orleans).
What am I supposed to do????? Having nothing to do just drives me
Please, please, please come to my house and help me. I have so much to do right now and odviously I'm not doing it I'm surfing this web site because I find it so informational and totally interesting. Meanwhile, I have two bathrooms that need cleaned, laundry to do, etc.....
Seriously though, just sit back, take a deep breath and relax. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!!
Karrie
BT,
I'm right in line behind Karrie - I need you here, too! About the biggest stride forward I've made so far is ordering protein samples to figure out what I should buy. What kind of post-op foods did you already buy?
Still have to get the will and guardianship thing done, write the letters to family, and stock the freezer for my family. Have to figure out whether I'm taking my daughter out of school for the three days I'll be in the city, or leaving her with someone here. The logistics part of the surgery is driving me crazy - really want my husband to stay home with the kids, but don't want to be alone in the hospital, either.
Oh yeah, really should clean the house, too. So, when can I expect you, BT?
Beth
Let's see - I bought a bunch of different soups - everything from Top Ramen to Cup A Noodle to the milk carton style Chicken & Beef Broth. Instant potatoes. Calci-Fresh Gum which is sugar free & contains calcium citrate, vitamins C, D & K. (one less pill to deal with)
My best friend has bought me a Magic Bullet Blender to puree food. I also picked up jello, applesauce, instant oatmeal, instant breakfast, Whey Protein, peanut butter, Crystal Lite and....don't laugh.....baby food.
I found a brand of organic baby foods that doesn't have a lot of sugar in it, and they come in the right sizes for my new stomach (2oz, 4oz and 6oz sizes). I bought everything from turkey & dressing to vegetables to fruit. Cost me maybe $20 for about 35 jars.
I figure between all of that, I'll be able to find SOMETHING to eat for the first two weeks until I'm back on solid food, and even if I end up hating the baby food, the JARS will be extremely useful post op for storing the right portions.
(Yes, I know, I overplan. I don't have to actually FOLLOW the plan - I just have to HAVE one, in order to be calm.)

Hey BT,
Congrats on being sooo close to the big day. I just got my passport in today. Going to Mexico on Monday. I'm just a bunch of nerves. Helps knowing alot of you gals are going through the same thing right now. Also, it hadn't really occured to me to stock up the pantry so when I get back. Thank god for this website and all the wonderful people on it. I'd be so clueless otherwise.
Do you have the name of that brand of baby food?
Evie
It's called Nature's Goodness (by Del Monte), and while the SHELF said organic, I'm not seeing those words on the label, however the label DOES say no preservatives, and the ingredient read like real food "carrots, beef stock, beef, potatoes, water"
I figured since I'm not supposed to be lifting a lot of weight, I didn't want to go shopping immediately after I return.
