New Date after Cancellation!
I arrived at the hospital for my surgery Monday morning, August 29, only to be told my surgery was cancelled - my doctor got sick. So the next date they could give me is September 12 - they won't bump anyone already on the schedule. I don't think that's fair to me and the other person who was supposed to have surgery 8/29, but what can we do? So I have moved over from the "August 2005" board to the "September 2005" board. Nice t' meet you all!!

Btty Boop60 No, I actually haven't heard a word from the surgeon himself. I've spoken with his nurse and his secretary. They apologized because the hospital didn't call me and I had to show up to find out I was cancelled. The secretary, who has had WLS herself, is a sweetheart, and she told me today that she's so sorry this happened to me. She was the one who worked so hard to get my insurance approval through when they were dragging their feet, so she feels just awful for me. As to the coverage, he does have a partner and I wondered why my surgery didn't go ahead with the other surgeon. Guess she wasn't available that day. There are just the two of them. I guess he feels he can't help it if he was sick, so he's not apologizing. Neither will they bump anyone to get me back in the OR, which I also think is unfair. I hope when I do see him he will tell me he's sorry. That seems the least he could do.
Spilled milk at this point! Time to move on! Time to stop looking back and look forward to September 12.
