Introducing myself

Hi everyone! I'm a 45 year old mom of two (9 1/2 and 2 1/2), with a whole buncha co-morbidities I hope to lose really soon! I'm desperate to improve my health, as I've felt so lousy over the past few years. This year took the cake.... diagnosed with thyroid cancer, I had a total thyroidectomy in March. I'm on CPAP, have to sleep in a recliner, have hypertension and am insulin resistant (so I know the diabetes monster is coming for me) and can't keep up with my kids, husband and dog. I'm tired of missing out on life. I'm scheduled to have a DS with Dr. Gagner in New York City on 9/21/05... only 23 days to go! I've never been to this board before, just generally hang out at the DS forum, but thought I should say hello. Beth

Hello Beth, Congratuations. Think you'll find the people here are very warm and friendly. Sad you can't find a bunch of people with this much support for eachother. But at least we all luck out and have found it here. I'm scheduled for the 5th in Mexico. (paying out of pocket). Evie
