my big day is 9-19-05 what kinds of protein bar or drinks will you all be buying.

Yippeeee! I have the same date as you. I am sooooo excited but also a little nervous. I don't plan to get any protein bars yet. My doc has you on a clear liquid diet for the first two weeks. I have tried the BALANCE bars and found them to be ok. But I have been told that your tastes will change after surgery. I don't know if this is true but I am going to wait and see. Hey there. The only things that I have bought is a sample pack from www.susanmaria.com and I also called and ordered some free samples of protein shakes. I went to GNC and bought a couple of Isopure's but I haven't gotten the nerve up to try them. Good Luck in your journey, Britt

The sample pack is what I'm getting too. I have *some* things that I've tried, but I don't know what I'll like post-op, so I didn't want to stock up on something I later hated. I like Ensure though, and the Whey protein seems to be pretty tasteless when put into other things.

I have not like any of the bars until I tried the South Beach chocolate rice crispy looking one...sorry...LOL...I have not had one in quite a while and don't remember what it is called. I have also heard that tastes change so much after surgery, that I am not going to spend much time or money investigating. Good luck...if you find something you really like, let us know!! I ordered the chewable vitamins, the tasteless variety of whey protein and a couple of the other varieties in vanilla and fruit flavors from susanmarie.com. I'm hoping if I can mix it into a lot of things to get as much protein as possible.
