Monterrey, Mexico?

Is there anyone else that will be having surgery in Monterrey the week of Sept. 15th? I will be banded by Dr. Rumbaut. My dream is only a few days away! Ally

Nope, but we do share a couple of things in common. I'm also on the 15th, and going out of the country. But I'll be in Brazil. I'm guessing you're self-pay like me?

I WILL BE GOING TO DR RUMBAUT SEPT. 22ND. I HAVE RESEARCHED SO MANY SURGONS AND HE IS BY FAR THE MOST QUALIFIED. HE ALSO TEACHES US SURGONS ON THE PROCEDURE. HE HAS DONE FAR MORE THAN ANY DOCTOR IN THE US. I ALSO AM VERY EXCITED PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW HOW IT GOES. DONNA

Ally, I am being banded in Monterrey also, but on September 22nd by Dr. Sanchez. My friend just got back and she said she's been spoiled now and wouldn't want to go to a US Hospital because it was so wonderful there!! Wishing the best for you. Have a wonderful trip!! Smiles, Karrie

That's what I've heard, too - that the foreign hospitals know they have to give superior care to stay in the game. That's what makes it worth it for people like us to travel out of the country. I got an email from a dear friend of mine in Mexico, who checked into Dr Marchesini for me, and it came back with many accolades. Even though I've heard good things about him here, and have emailed it, it was really nice to get independent confirmation from someone who lives in South America. (His friend who gave the references is from Argentina). He, too, spoke of how wonderful it is. Funny, I would *never* have considered it, if I hadn't been a member of OH. --BT
